Scram! Well, actually, don’t scram, because you’re going to want to stick around for this one. NECA is bringing everyone’s favorite grouchy green guy to their Sesame Street Ultimate line, and boy are we thrilled! Oscar the Grouch is now up for preorder over at our friends at BigBadToyStore, and Entertainment Earth for $39.99, with shipping expected in the 4th quarter of 2026. I just love everything about this figure. Standing 7 inches tall, Oscar comes loaded with so many fun details. The hinged jaw and adjustable eyebrow give him all the grouchy expression you could want, and the ratcheted trash can lets you adjust his height so you can have him peeking out or standing tall and proud in all his grumpy glory. How cool is that?! The accessories are really where this one shines for me. You get interchangeable hands and arms, his little worm buddy Slimey, Rubber Yucchy, the classic scram sign, and the letter “T” because of course you do. I always loved how Sesame Street wove those educational bits into everything, and seeing NECA honor that with the accessories is so much fun. The collector-friendly window box packaging with the opening front flap and classic storybook homage box art is a really nice touch too. NECA continues to do amazing work with this Sesame Street line, capturing all the charm and personality that made us fall in love with these characters as kids. Oscar has always held a special place in my heart because let’s be honest, sometimes we all feel a little grouchy, and there’s something wonderful about a character who just leans all the way into it. So let’s take a look at the NECA Sesame Street Ultimate Oscar the Grouch!

Ultimate Oscar the Grouch

Oscar the Grouch looks absolutely perfect here, with that matted, shaggy green fur texture sculpted in layers that genuinely mimic the look of a worn puppet. His trash can features a weathered “SCRAM” sign tacked on with tiny sculpted nails, and you can see how the ratcheted lid props open behind him while Slimey peeks out from a nearby burlap sack.

Here’s a closer look at how the trash can’s ratcheted design works, with Oscar raised up just enough to show off that gorgeous layered fur sculpt across his chest and shoulders. The surrounding diorama pieces really sell the scene, with wooden crates, burlap sacks, and a milk crate all adding to the clutter you’d expect right outside his home on Sesame Street.

I like how the trash can lid sits propped behind Oscar like a little halo of grouchiness, with its concentric ridged detail adding a nice metallic contrast against all that organic fur texture. The sculpt on his hands is worth pointing out too, with those stubby, splayed fingers showing individual tufts of fur between each one.

Oscar’s face sculpt is really something here, with those wide, asymmetrical eyes and thick brown eyebrow ridge perfectly capturing his signature skeptical expression. The hinged jaw is open just enough to show off the red tongue and dark mouth interior, selling that classic mid-grumble look.

One thing I noticed right away is the letter “T” accessory, which has its own little personality with those googly eyes, a tiny mouth line, and a gold crown perched on top. Oscar’s interchangeable arms are on full display here with a wider, more expressive set swapped in, showing off a different gesture than the previous shots.

Covered in that wonderfully scraggly fur texture, the figure’s midsection shows how the sculpted layers thin out just slightly around the arms to preserve articulation without breaking the puppet illusion. The “SCRAM” sign looks great from this distance, with its torn, taped-together edges and hand-scrawled lettering adding a charming bit of handmade character to the trash can.

Sporting a little orange and yellow striped Slimey in one hand, Oscar looks right at home with his pet worm, and the sculpt on Slimey is surprisingly detailed for such a tiny accessory, with segmented bands and a cute little face. The trash can’s corrugated vertical ridges have subtle dark washes settling into the grooves, giving it a convincingly grimy, lived-in metallic finish.

You can see how the accessories really flesh out Oscar’s world, with a crumpled newspaper, small tin cans, and what looks like Rubber Yucchy scattered around the base of the trash can. It’s cool to see all that environmental clutter scaled so well alongside the figure, each piece adding another layer of Sesame Street charm to the display.

Here’s a closer look at Oscar alongside Rubber Yucchy, whose yellow body, spiky black tuft of hair, and wide orange beak make for a wonderfully weird little companion. The surrounding scatter of miniature accessories, from the tire to the milk crate filled with tiny grocery items, shows just how much thought went into making this feel like a complete Sesame Street vignette.

Oscar’s big white eyes peer just over the rim of the trash can here, with the lid tilted back at a lower angle than previous shots, showing off how the ratcheted mechanism lets you fine-tune exactly how much of him you want peeking out. The milk crate in the foreground is packed with miniature bottles and cans in greens, reds, and blues, plus what appears to be a small wedge of cheese, all fitting snugly together like a tiny hoarder’s treasure chest.

I’m really digging how this particular setup shows off the sheer volume of accessories that come with Oscar, with the newspaper, tire, crate, and scattered cans all arranged to create a genuinely convincing little pocket of urban clutter around the base. The tiny yellow Rubber Yucchy perched nearby adds a fun pop of color against all the muted grays and browns of the rest of the scene.

I like how the letter “T” accessory really holds its own next to Oscar here, with that textured pink surface mimicking a felt or foam material rather than smooth plastic. His annoyed side-eye toward the crowned letter is pure Oscar, and the combination of his grouchy demeanor next to this cheerful little alphabet character feels like a classic Sesame Street skit waiting to happen.

Here are some fun shots of Oscar alongside Bert and Ernie, and the scale match between all three figures is really satisfying, with Oscar in his trash can sitting right at the perfect height relative to his Sesame Street neighbors. Ernie’s horizontal striped shirt and Bert’s vertical striped pullover provide a bright, cheerful contrast to Oscar’s muted greens and grays, making this little sidewalk gathering feel like a scene pulled straight from the show.

Count von Count makes for a perfect scene partner here, with his dark green cape draped over a black leather-textured suit jacket and that bold red-and-yellow striped vest peeking through at the chest. Oscar’s unimpressed glare toward the Count’s raised finger feels like the start of a classic bit, and the paisley-print fabric on the bag between them adds a fun visual layer to this little Sesame Street encounter.

Here’s the full accessory spread laid out alongside Oscar, and it really drives home how loaded this release is for the price point. Six interchangeable hands and arms in varying gestures, the “SCRAM” sign, Slimey, Rubber Yucchy, and that crowned letter “T” all come together as one of the most generous accessory packs I’ve seen for a figure in this scale.
