E. Honda on the Street Fighter Ultra II Video Game
E. Honda (Edmond Honda) is one of the original Street Fighter II World Warriors. He’s a Japanese sumo wrestler who fights with a grappler playstyle: strong in close range, heavy on throws, and capable of punishing mistakes up close. E. Honda was a proud sumo wrestler from Japan who fights to prove sumo’s supremacy on the world stage. In the video game, he mostly fights at close range, uses throws and powerful close-range hits to overwhelm opponents. He was much slower moving, but did high damage if he gets in close to his enemies.
His signature moves included :
- Signature moves (common across SF II versions):
- Hyakuretsu Harite (Hundred-Hand Slap): rapid palm strikes up close. Great for closing distance and dealing damage in melee range.
- Oicho Gatame (Sumo Throw): a grappling throw that slams the opponent, often used after getting in close.
- Sumo Headbutt (forward dash headbutt): a mid-range to close-range punish/approach option to weave into throws or slaps.
- Strategy tips: Get inside with a headbutt to threaten the throw, then follow with Hyakuretsu Harite to rack up hits. Use Oicho Gatame when the opponent is close and predictable, to secure big damage or a knockdown.

Well fast forward to New York Comic Con, and Jada Toys has done it again with an expanded offering of Street Fighter figures! Missing characters that we had not previously saw at San Diego, were now on display at New York! We get to see new characters like E. Honda, Zangief and Akuma!
