Is Masters of the WWE Universe Making a Return? We Think So!
Stop what you’re doing, because this one is something else as I thought this line was not coming back but stranger things have happened clever on you Mattel for doing what you do best: parts reuse. Massive thanks to @majorwfpod for sharing what might be one of the wildest surprises to come out of WrestleMania Week, because on display at WWE World during WrestleMania 42 was a jaw-dropping showcase that suggests the Masters of the WWE Universe line is not only coming back but coming back in a way none of us saw coming. I remember when the original crossover line hit shelves and gave us those fun He-Man and WWE mashups that leaned heavily into the classic Masters of the Universe aesthetic, and now it looks like Mattel is taking things in a completely different direction by pulling from the Horde and Princess of Power side of the MOTU universe, which honestly opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities. The figures spotted on display include Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, and a Bray Wyatt reimagined as Prince Adam, which is one of those choices that just makes you stop and think about how perfect that pairing actually is. But the one that really floored me was the mashup of Scott Hall and Kevin Nash as Two-Bad, because that is the kind of deep, clever character pairing that shows someone on the design team truly understands both properties and knows exactly how to connect them in ways that feel inspired rather than forced. On top of all that, prototypes of Demolition Axe, Smash, and Crush were also on display, giving us even more to chew on as this line apparently takes shape. We have no official confirmation yet on release details, pricing, or distribution, but the fact that these were proudly shown at such a massive event during WrestleMania Week feels like a very strong signal that this is more than just a concept exercise. I’m fired up to see where this goes, and if the final products land anywhere close to what was shown, collectors who sit at the intersection of MOTU and WWE fandom are in for something truly special.

A packed diorama showcases the Masters of the WWE Universe lineup, with several figures posed together on rocky terrain. Up front, Shawn Michaels as Bow sports a blue and black outfit with a heart emblem on the chest, yellow boots, and a blue bow accessory, while Bray Wyatt as Prince Adam stands beside him in a pink jacket over a white shirt, purple pants, and black boots, holding a translucent purple Power Sword and lantern. Further back, Cody Rhodes in Battle Armor wears a light blue and red outfit with a gray axe raised overhead, and what appears to be additional figures including Hulk Hogan in red Horde-inspired gear round out the scene. I’m really liking the way this wave leans into the Princess of Power and Horde aesthetics, especially with the translucent purple accessories on the Bray Wyatt figure.

Shawn Michaels takes center stage here, holding a blue bow with an arrow drawn back, his black cape draping behind him. Behind the loose figures, the carded packaging for both Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels shows off the classic Masters of the WWE Universe card art with its purple and blue crystal deco.

The Masters of the WWE Universe wrestling ring features a green stone-textured base with an orange mat, gold turnbuckle posts, and tall translucent teal crystal spires at the corners that pull directly from Castle Grayskull’s aesthetic. Three figures are posed inside the ring, with Cody Rhodes in his Battle Armor gear holding a gold sword, the Scott Hall and Kevin Nash Two-Bad mashup figure in the center wearing blue and red with white boots, and what appears to be Hulk Hogan in a black and white Horde-inspired outfit carrying a white axe accessory.

Three prototype figures of Demolition Axe, Smash, and Crush are lined up together, each outfitted with heavy gray spiked shoulder armor, black trunks, and black boots, with their signature face paint sculpted into the headsculpts. Off to the side, a figure that looks like The Rock stands in red and black Horde-style gear, carrying a large silver axe, and behind the group the Fright Zone Ring packaging shows Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as separate figures that combine into the Two-Bad mashup.
