Following up on his stellar reviews of the MOTU Origins ThunderCat’s Wave 1 figures, we’ve got our first in-hand look at Orko from the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Wave 25 courtesy of Mr. Home Arcade! Mr. Home Arcade, known for his detailed reviews, has just dropped the first of three upcoming reviews for the newest Cartoon Collection wave. He was nice enough to send us an appetizer of the card art for the wave and he’s now kicking things off with Orko, the iconic Trollan with a fresh design straight from the Filmation-style aesthetic. Mr. Home Arcade gives us a close-up look at the sculpt, paint apps, articulation, and packaging, offering collectors an early preview of what to expect from this figure. Also, be sure checkout Mr. Home Arcade’s video review!

Here is the carded image of Orko and his alternate Uncle Montork head and necklace are packed beside him and is dubbed the “Heroic Court Magician.” On the back of the card, we cab see Orko taking center stage with his trademark wide-eyed look and spell-casting hand raised high, flanked by his Uncle Montork. On the right, Teela and He-Man stand confidently, looking on.

Orko sports his classic bright red robe with a large black “O” on the front, staying true to his Filmation animated series design. His light blue hands and ears, yellow eyes, and signature orange floppy wizard hat complete the vibrant look. The figure is supported by a clear display stand that creates the illusion of hovering, adding a sense of motion and magic to the presentation.

Orko also comes with some cool accessories to transform him into Uncle Montork!

The MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Orko figure can also transform into Uncle Montork, a fun and clever nod to the classic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe animated series. In this alternate look, Orko features an added white faux beard piece that attaches beneath his face, giving him the appearance of his elder relative, Montork. He also comes with a gold medallion accessory, held in his left hand, which is a deep-cut reference from the Filmation cartoon.

You can also see the comparison of the MOTU Origins Orko versus the Cartoon Collection version and CC version is much smaller in scale.

Wave 25 Mini Comic: Future Tense
The Wave 25 mini comic is entitled “Future Tense” and is penned by the talented @joshuaskywriter! This is part V of the Horde Invasion Saga and it is a stellar piece of writing and visual!

In the opening pages of the Masters of the Universe Origins Cartoon Collection mini-comic, including Orko and friends, push their magic to its limits to reopen a portal to Etheria that had been sealed by Hordak. Their efforts succeed, and the heroes prepare to charge through to assist She-Ra in her struggle. However, just as He-Man is about to enter the portal, the Sorceress appears and redirects him. She informs He-Man that he has an even more critical mission—defeating Hordak’s Star Armada, which threatens all of Etheria. She sends him to a place “where the present meets the future.” On Planet Primus, He-Man meets an alternate version of himself—strong, confident, and somewhat surprised to be facing his own doppelgänger from another timeline or universe. This He-Man explains the threat and requests the use of Primus’s Star Armada to help combat the evil threatening Etheria. As he explains that Etheria is his sister’s world, the New Adventures He-Man agrees to help, affirming that the battle against evil is a shared responsibility across time and space. Despite the seriousness of the mission, he humorously admits he feels a little overshadowed, remarking that he thought he was the strongest man in the universe.

As He-Man embarks on his mission to defeat Hordak’s star armada, the battle for Etheria intensifies. On the planet’s surface, She-Ra and her allies, now bolstered by reinforcements, fight fiercely to defend the besieged Crystal Castle. Their renewed strength begins to turn the tide against Hordak’s forces. Meanwhile, in captivity, Skeletor is being relentlessly tortured by Hordak as punishment for past betrayals. Despite the pain, vengeance stirs within him, growing at a heavy cost. Elsewhere, Hordak is informed that the war is slipping from his grasp, but he dismisses the losses as acceptable sacrifices and commands an all-out orbital assault—even at the risk of harming his own troops. As his weapons prepare to fire, a mysterious signal suddenly interrupts all systems. From the cosmic rift, a familiar voice echoes defiantly across the battlefield, challenging Hordak with the bold declaration: “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size?” signaling the arrival of an unexpected force.

The battle rages in orbit as Starship Eternia opens fire on the monstrous threat, Monstron, with warriors on the ground offering their full support. Amid the chaos, She-Ra reunites joyfully with her brother. Following the successful defeat of Hordak’s starfleet, the heroes gather to plan their next move. Though She-Ra believes victory is at hand, He-Man cautions that Hordak still controls Snake Mountain and the Fright Zone, bolstered by his dark army from Despondos. Committed to finishing the fight, He-Man and She-Ra vow to bring down Hordak once and for all. While one of their allies must return to defend his home planet of Primus, he thanks them for their aid. As the siblings approach the Hellgate to confront Hordak, they brace for the coming battle—only to be stunned by the appearance of an unexpected figure. Much to their disbelief, the one they must now rely on is none other than Skeletor. The scene ends on a dramatic cliffhanger, setting the stage for the next chapter in their eternal struggle.
