Roton Turtles of Grayskull MOTU TMNT Crossover Vehicle Concept

It is no shocker to anyone that the MOTU team has backed off of producing vehicles for the line. That said, the MOTU Origins property has seen a handful of vehicles make it into production. The Ground Ripper (aka Road Ripper), Talon Fighter with Point Dread, Roton, Sky Sled, and Wing Raider are some of the few vehicles that have been remade and redesigned for the MOTU Origins line. While it remains to be seen if the Turtles of Grayskull property will ever see any vehicles (or playsets for that matter), we look to 3D artists/illustrators/printers like Yerco for inspiration! The original TMNT line produced and insane amount of kookie and crazy vehicles so it is not a far stretch to imagine a Roton vehicle coming to the Turtles of Grayskull line. Mattel already has a blueprint for the vhecile with the MOTU Origins Roton so this could be a simple repaint with some added Turtle flair!

Yerco has drawn inspiration from the Turtles of Grayskull mini comic for this vehicle. You can see a Roton looking vehicle used by the Turtles to help them traverse getting to where they need to be in style!

Designing this smaller than the actual MOTU Origins Roton, the concept is very similar as it is made to fit on Turtle and it has the addition of a cage and the blades.

As Yerco states on his Instagram page: “Lately, I’ve been super busy with research, writing a scientific article, and giving some classes. Although I’m a bit of a tryhard, this has taken me more time than expected, so I haven’t been very active lately. Meanwhile, I got caught up in the Turtles of Grayskull project by Freddy Williams II. In the third minicomic, there’s a tiny Rotton-like buggy. The colors and details are a bit basic, but I let my imagination fill in the blanks… I’m not sure if they’re planning to release a vehicle for the Turtles of Grayskull, but with no news, I think it’s fair to dream and create something cool for the collection. What would I call it? 🤔 Mmm, maybe the “TMNT Rotto-Van” or something like that. xD”
