It’s time to chill and get frosty because the Hasbro Team finally officially revealed the next Hasbro Pulse GI Joe GI Joe Classified Haslab, and our hunch was correct, it was indeed the Snow Cat! We can’t be more excited about this highly anticipated new Haslab project. As we previously reported in our Future GI Joe Classified Series HasLab Ground Vehicle Possibilities Leaked, the possibility of a Classified Snow Cat was our top contender! This new Haslab has 3 unlock tiers that includes Lady Jaye in Arctic Gear action figure, Bivouac Battle Station, and Flint in Arctic Gear action figure! We wanted to update you on the status of this Haslab project. With one week to back the project left, the current backer count as of writing this article is 7942. Frostbite has to keep an eye out on the engine compartment. Plus he has a winch to get him outta tight spots!

Haslab Campaign

Official Product Description: G.I. Joe has opened a new front in our ongoing conflict – the Arctic and Antarctic. Partnering once again with HasLab, they have developed a 6-inch scale G.I. Joe Classified Series Snow C.A.T. Vehicle with hopes of securing 8,000 backer orders before the end of the Campaign. Reach all 3 tiers for maximum collectible experience! Cobra Commander kicked this campaign off in this promotional video.

Here we can see the multipart windshield, as it opens with gullwing windows on either side. The dashboard looks incredible and lights up like a Christmas tree!

Some additional close ups and details of the Snow Cat windshield. You can see it comes with frosty decals so it looks like it’s frosted with snow!

During the Fanstream, Emily Lenny and Tony showed off their working model of the Snow Cat, so let’s take a closer look at those images.

The details on the Snow Cat are incredible! It has working head lights, tow hooks, and awesome tank treads.

You can see the ski missiles sit on snowboards, They also store in the storage boxes on either side of the rear.

The back tail gate drops open, and you can open the storage boxes to store your accessories, and the motor has removeable panels.

You can see the pull out kitchenette which you will be able to put the hotplate on, it has a sink and place to place the coffee mugs. There are also indents to hold the roasting sticks. Lenny shows off the in progress decal sheet that features retro style Snow Cat logo stickers! I don’t know about you, but that is how I am going to display mine!

Tier 1- Lady Jaye in Arctic Gear

Should some miracle occur, and fans dazzled by the ice blue LED lighting foolishly provide 10,000 Backer Orders, all who support the Campaign shall receive an action figure of Lady Jaye in Arctic Gear.

Tier 2- Bivouac Battle Station

Further anticipating their ineffectiveness to resolve missions in a timely fashion, G.I. Joe has offered the Bivouac Battle Station should the Campaign bafflingly reach 12,000 backer orders thus unlocking Tier 2. With this add-on, Joes are able to bunker down with a bevy of additional gear and weaponry that conveniently stows in the rear cargo compartments.

Tier 3- Flint in Arctic Gear Action

If the truly unimaginable should ensue and the Campaign reach 14,000 backer orders before its conclusion, buyers will unlock Tier 3 – A Flint action figure in Arctic Gear. This perpetual do-gooder comes with even more facile bric-a-brac for their “Adventure Team”.

Dimensions

Here we can see the dimensions of the Snow Cat, measuring 21.05″ L, 10.85″ H and 10.44″ W. With these dimensions, you can fit this on a standard Billy Bookcase but it is still one big kitty!

Here we can see size comparisons between the Haslab HISS Tank and the Stinger vehicle. The Snow Cat overshadows booth and you can see just how big it really is!

Vintage Snow Cat

The Snow Cat is another possibility and it was sold as part of the vehicle set of the 1985 GI Joe line of A Real American Hero toys. It included Frostbite as the action figure pack-in. Here are some notes for the HasLab version:

• There are two possibilties for the vehcile.
  • 1. Retro version that would have lights and look pretty much like the vintage Snow Cat
  • 2. An updated version with a retro front end with a much larger backend to house troops with a pop up missile pod like the 2004 Ice Sabre
• One of the figures being kicked around as a stretch goal is Snow Bunny Baroness

Being a global force, GI Joe is expected to be able to deploy in any number of environments from, plains to deserts to jungles and even to the arctic. As such they were in need of a vehicle that was easy to maintain, easy to transport, and effective. The Snow Cat meets all of these things quite well. It’s half-track allows it traverse most arctic type terrain with little issue. It’s missile armament allows it to hit above it’s class and it’s speed allows for relatively quick deployment. All in all it is a very effective arctic environment machine.

Frostbite was released as part of the fourth series in 1985. He was sold with the Snow Cat arctic assault half-track vehicle and was also sold in 1986. Frostbite’s bio reads:

Frostbite was born in a place where summer is a myth and a crowd consists of two people standing on the same acre. He worked briefly as lineman on the pipeline but found the job unchallenging despite the 40° below zero temperatures and hazardous conditions. The army promised to give him a challenge whenever he wanted one. Frostbite graduated from transportation school, Fort Eustis and armored school, Fort Knox. Qualified expert: M-16, M1911A1 Auto Pistol, M-250 cal. MG, and M-607 7.62mm MG.

“Frostbite has to be cool. The environment he works in is too unforgiving. If his Snow Cat throws a piston, he’s got to step out into weather that’ll freeze a hex-wrench to bare skin in five seconds and carry through a repair job that would be taxing under ideal conditions. He can’t afford to panic. Not if he wants to stay alive.”
