Back in May, we reported on leaked for Spin master 1978 Superman The Movie Retro Figures. Well thanks to just_bsing on Instagram, we now have images of these new figures being found in Target stores and the UPC/DPCI’s for this first wave as well! Shown below is the entire wave except for Jor-el in the white outfit, which is thought to be a chase figure! Looks like the @spinmaster DC Retro Superman ‘78 figures are popping up at retail in Malaysia! Hopefully that means their release in other markets is imminent. As a reminder, these will be Target exclusive in the U.S.
Jor-El in the white garb is missing here. Could it be a chase figure? I don’t recall if Spin Master does the whole chase thing, so if someone smarter than I am knows, please drop a comment and let us know!

Below we have the UPCs/DPCIs for the first wave. They are not scanning yet, but you can try to use these to find them in store. These were priced even lower than expected at $7.99 each! These were found in Astoria, New York. Thanks to @johnnyblazeleavitt for the photos!

According to just_bsing on Instagram, leaked vendor images for a new Spin Master 1978 Superman The Movie Retro Figures have been appearing online. Retro Kenner style 5 POA figures themed after characters from the 1978 Superman The Movie, this new retro line includes Christopher Reeves Superman Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, General Zod, Jorel in a white outfit, and Jorel in a black outfit. Now these leaked images have not yet been confirmed. After some additional digging, we were able to track down the source of the images to DC Comics Superman Retro Collection Asst – WHB Malaysia website. Listing for the DC Comics Superman Retro Collection Asst – WHB Malaysia is shown below with a price of RM49.90. Not sure how this translates to US dollars but they seem to be inexpensive figures.

Here you can see all 6 figures in the wave. General Zod comes with the cool prism that he and the other space criminals were trapped in. Jo-Rel in his black outfit comes with some kind of white staff. Jo-Rel in his white outfit comes with a piece of green kryptonite.
Lex Luthor includes a toupee, and a newspaper, Lois Lane comes with a reporter’s notebook and Superman comes with the green kryptonite. necklace that Lex Luthor throws around his neck in the movie.
