Back on February 3, 2025, during Brian Flynn’s recent interview with We Want More ThunderCats, Brian mentioned they were going to be revealing the next wave of Super7 ThunderCats Ultimates on the cover of Toy Collectr Magazine. Well, fast forward a few days and on this week’s Geek Dad Life livestream, Blake Wright from Toy Collectr Magazine unveiled the new cover for their next March 2025 issue and featured on the cover was the next Super7 ThunderCats Ultimates Wave 13 which is none other than the LJN toy version of Vultureman and The Mutant Skycutter! Yes the next wave of ThunderCats Ultimates will be a figure and vehicle similar to Mandora and the Electro Charger or what they did with Copper Kid and the Space Racer. The Mutant Skycutter is now up for preorder and we have all the official images as well!

Taking a closer look you can see that this version of Vultureman is his LJN toy variant version. He has a cool holster for a blade he is wearing around his chest, just like the vintage toy! The Skycutter looks classic like the vintage LJN toy! It has great detail and I love the yellow accents and spinning blades on the ends of the wings.

June 15, 2025 Update: Skycutter Tease and Preorder
Heads up, ThunderCats fans! A new tease has just surfaced hinting that the highly anticipated Skycutter vehicle could be going up for preorder Monday, June 16, 2025. The tease was posted by Instagram account @wewantmorethundercats, who shared an image with the caption: “Who is ready for TOMORROW!!!!!.” While nothing has been officially confirmed by Super7 yet, the image also shows the hands of Vultureman—who famously pilots the Skycutter in the original cartoon. Stay tuned, as we’ll be watching closely for official word and preorder links as they become available!

LJN Vintage Vultureman & Mutant Skycutter
The LJN Mutant Skycutter was released back in 1985 by LJN. The package featured beautiful box art with Monkian riding the Skycutter. This vehicle was part of the extensive line of toys produced by LJN, designed to promote the show and its characters. The Mutant Skycutter was designed to resemble a flying vehicle used by the villains of the ThunderCats, particularly the Mutants.
