Hot off the press as our good friend @masterversal_toyhunter came through with some great in-hand shots of the Trap Jaw Movie MOTU Origins Deluxe Exclusive, and this one is worth slowing down for. We’ve been watching the movie-inspired Origins figures roll out, and Trap Jaw has always been one of those characters where the design translation matters. From these images, Mattel appears to have nailed the balance between the classic Origins aesthetic and the new movie influence. The mechanical arm and jaw prosthetic look sharp, with a level of sculpt work that gives the figure real shelf presence even at this scale. The color palette feels like it pulls from the film’s grittier tone while still keeping that unmistakable MOTU energy collectors expect from the line. Accessories look solid too, with the interchangeable arm attachments that have always been core to any good Trap Jaw release. The packaging is the familiar Origins Deluxe window box, which is a nice touch for anyone who keeps these carded. As a Walmart exclusive, availability could be tricky depending on your area, so if you want to track one down, you can check current stock over at Walmart. Scroll through the images below and see how this one looks outside the box.

Packaging

Here’s Trap Jaw out of the box with everything he comes with laid out, including the blade attachment, the hook already fitted to his mechanical arm, and the collector card. @masterversal_toyhunter framed this nicely to give you a full picture of the complete package contents alongside the card art.

The front card art features Trap Jaw leaping into action against a fiery Snake Mountain backdrop, and you can see how he fills the entire window with that bulky mechanical arm and armor taking up every inch of space. The back artwork is just as striking, showing him on a ledge along with Snake Mountain’s jagged silhouette looming behind him in moody purples and volcanic orange.

The box side panels carry some gorgeous artwork, with one side depicting a rocky, skull-littered stairway climbing toward a glowing volcanic skyline and the other featuring a tight portrait of Trap Jaw snarling under his spiked helmet, gripping a weapon with his organic hand. The warm oranges and deep earth tones wrap around the entire box and tie both panels together nicely.

The collector card gives you Trap Jaw’s portrait on the front with his snarling green face framed by that red helmet, while the back features a menacing Snake Mountain scene with lightning and molten lava veins running through the rock. It’s a nice inclusion, but honestly, a mini comic exploring the movie lore would have been a much better fit for a deluxe exclusive like this, and it feels like a missed opportunity.

Figure Details

The front view shows off Trap Jaw’s blue skin tone against the dark metallic greaves and heavy armored boots, with green wrist bracers and thigh guards adding contrast to the brown loin cloth’s ragged edges. From the back, you can see how the leather-like harness straps cross over the torso sculpt, and the mechanical arm’s cylindrical housing with its serrated blade attachment extends almost to the floor, with the hook accessory resting nearby.

Trap Jaw looks great fully kitted out with both attachments in play, the hook fitted to his mechanical arm while he grips the serrated blade in his organic hand. @masterversal_toyhunter posed him well across both angles, giving you a solid sense of how imposing all that layered armor and weaponry looks when everything comes together.

You can see the blade and hook attachments swapped between views here, and without the chest harness, that bare blue torso sculpt with its deep muscle definition is fully on display. The mechanical arm’s cylindrical housing dominates the silhouette, and the ornate belt buckle and tattered loin cloth do all the visual heavy lifting across the midsection now that the harness is out of the equation.

A face only a mother could love. The side-by-side comparison shows off Trap Jaw’s hinged jaw in both open and closed positions, and you can see how that green face sculpt shifts from a wide, teeth-baring snarl to a tighter, almost smirking expression just by clicking the jaw shut. Those beady dark eyes, the furrowed brow, and the jagged teeth lining the red helmet’s lower jaw all work together to make this one of the ugliest mugs in the lineup, in the best possible way.

You can remove the chest harness, wrist bracer, and loin cloth with belt, and here they’re laid out separately so you get a clear look at each piece. The harness has riveted straps with spiked shoulder armor, the loin cloth features a sculpted belt buckle with embossed detailing over tattered fur-like fabric, and the bracer carries matching carved textures.

These close-up panels let you appreciate the layered engineering on the leg armor, from the circular riveted knee joint and segmented greave plates down to the heavy, flat-soled boots with their recessed panel lines. The mechanical arm’s close-up reveals sculpted buckle clasps and raised ridges along the housing, with sharp fin-like protrusions curving off the shoulder cap that you just don’t catch at full-figure distance.

You can really see just how much Trap Jaw towers over He-Man here, with his heavy armor plating, chunky greaves, and that massive mechanical arm making him look like an absolute unit next to the leaner, classic MOTU Origins build. The size difference sells the idea of a bruiser who’d be a genuine physical threat on screen.
