History of Galaxy Warriors
Warriors of the Galaxy or the Galaxy Warriors as the are also referred to was released in 1983 by Sungold as a response to the ultra successful Masters of the Universe line. Some people called them bootlegs, some people call them knock offs, but what they are now is a vintage toy cult classic and fetch high prices on the after market!
According to Galaxy Warriors Wikia | Fandom:
In 1983, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe were the new big thing. To ride the coattails of it’s success, little-known toy company Sungold released the Galaxy Warriors, an infamous line of toys that surprisingly was ripped-off and bootlegged more than Masters of the Universe itself.
The package art for Galaxy Warriors is modified from paintings by Frank Frazetta, the image from the logo being from Against The Gods with the sword replaced by an axe, while the prominent warrior on the front is from Warrior With Ball And Chain, with the flail replaced by an axe and the helmet redesigned to resemble Magnon’s.

As you can see the Galaxy Warriors logo is extremally similar to the Warriors of the Galaxy logo by Formo Toys. This vintage logo uses the sun and a barbarian warrior holding his axe as the main logo image.

Even some of the character of the Galaxy Warriors resemble the new figures from Formo Toys. It is exciting to see where this new 5.5″ line is going to go! They look very close to characters Magnon and Baltard.

More vintage Galaxy Warriors shown below. You can see a Viking like character and a beast. The beasts are exciting as this is a bootleg or knock off of the vintage Remco Warrior Beasts line as well!
