First off, huge thanks to both mightycomics_collectibles (for the heads up) and Mr. Home Arcade (for the additional images of the back box art art) as this one caught me off guard, because just when you think you have a handle on what’s coming next for the Masters of the Universe Origins Movie line, something completely unexpected surfaces out of nowhere and reshuffles the deck. Collectors browsing the Mattel Store stumbled upon the Skel-Knight Deluxe Figure, a discovery that seemingly nobody saw coming and that had no prior intel, no teases, and no leaked listings leading up to it. That kind of surprise is increasingly rare in this hobby, where early packaging shots and retail system leaks tend to spoil most reveals months in advance, so finding a brand new figure just casually sitting on the Mattel Store feels like a throwback to the days when you’d walk into a store and spot something completely new on the pegs with zero warning. Skel-Knight is an interesting addition to the Origins Movie lineup, and the fact that it carries the Deluxe designation suggests there’s more going on here than a standard single-carded release, likely extra accessories or alternate parts that warrant the upgraded packaging and price point. We’re still piecing together exactly what this figure includes and where it fits within the broader movie assortment, but the out-of-the-blue nature of this drop is part of what makes it so fun to talk about. The box art is stunning and shows off the amazing work of fetch.franciscoetchart! The back of the Skel-Knight packaging features moody card art depicting the Skel-Knight in a hooded cloak with a skeletal face, wielding a large battle axe against a purple, lava-lit Eternian landscape. Callout panels along the bottom show removable armor and multiple interchangeable masks as included accessories.

Three interchangeable skull masks are packed alongside the figure, each with a distinct sculpt, from a narrow elongated face to a wider, more angular jaw. The layered armor on the torso has a nice segmented design with gold trim running along the edges of each plate.

The card art on the front of the packaging depicts a squad of Skel-Knights in dark armor with gold detailing, each wearing the same skeletal mask and carrying bladed weapons, set against a smoky battlefield with a towering pyramid structure in the distance. It’s a great piece of illustration that really sells the idea of these as an army-building figure.

Skel Knight comes loaded with accessories in the tray, including a polearm with an axe-shaped head, a short sword with a pointed crossguard, and what looks to be a shield with matching gold-trimmed striping. The skirt has a nice drape to it, with a split down the center and sculpted detailing along the hem.
