Delta Magnus C-11 is much more than an Ultra Magnus repaint, and its connection to the pre-Transformers Diaclone Powered Convoy design is a huge part of the appeal. I really like the blue, red, and black deco, especially that rich blue cab set off by the chrome wheels, smokestacks, and fuel tanks. Those colors carry through the trailer and the combined robot, giving Delta Magnus a wonderfully vintage appearance even with all the modern engineering Takara Tomy has worked into it. The cab has extensive articulation, articulated hands, an ab crunch, and a Matrix chamber, while the trailer becomes armor, a vehicle carrier, a battle station, and a larger playset. There is even the transforming Cybertron Power Drive, also known as the Powered Buggy, with its own articulation and die-cast parts. That mix of old-school looks and added play features is exactly what makes the Missing Link format so much fun, and Delta Magnus uses it to revisit an important piece of Diaclone history without losing the chunky charm of the original toy. Overall Impressions

Delta Magnus is exactly the kind of release that makes the Missing Link concept so much fun. The repaint pays homage to the Diaclone version of the design, so these colors have some real history behind them rather than existing simply to get another use out of the Ultra Magnus tooling. The blue cab looks terrific with all that chrome, and the red, blue, and black combination gets even better once everything is assembled into Delta Magnus.

What impresses me most is how much Takara Tomy managed to build into it without losing what makes the old design appealing. The cab alone has an ab crunch, articulated hands, substantial leg movement, and a Matrix chamber. Then you add the trailer with its different playset configurations, the articulated combined robot, and Cybertron Power Drive transforming from a buggy into its own little robot. There is a lot here to mess around with, and nearly every part of the package serves some purpose beyond simply completing the look.

The packaging uses a stark black-and-white presentation, with oversized C-11 lettering and a distressed Missing Link logo giving the panel an industrial look. Delta Magnus gets only a small nameplate here, keeping the overall design unusually restrained.

The front box art pays direct homage to vintage G1 Transformers packaging, combining a red grid, Japanese typography, and a large illustrated Delta Magnus. The irregular yellow window border is especially distinctive, framing the tray like the edge of an explosive comic panel.

The back of the box pays homage to vintage G1 Transformers packaging with a sprawling space-battle illustration packed with explosions, flying vehicles, and battling Autobots and Decepticons!

Another face of the box swaps the dramatic illustration for clean product photography, pairing Delta Magnus in robot mode with the Armored Carrier configuration.

The side panel uses a bold yellow field framed in black, with character artwork and smaller product imagery worked into the design. I really like how the bright yellow gives the packaging that unmistakable vintage Japanese toy feel while keeping the presentation clean and graphic.

The molded styrofoam tray keeps the blue cab, Armored Carrier, Instructions, Leaflet, Collection Card, and Decals neatly separated. Even before assembly, the cab looks especially good with its chrome wheels, smokestacks, and fuel tanks adding some welcome shine.

The assembled Armored Carrier is displayed with the Mini Figure, Cybertron Power Drive, and two matching launcher assemblies. Its large side decal is a great vintage touch, using illustrated transformation stages and Japanese lettering instead of modern technical graphics.

The Mini Figure still gets a silver head, white torso, and light blue limbs despite its tiny size. Beside it, the Cybertron Power Drive has chunky tread-like side sections, molded mechanical detail, and small red, white, and blue decals.

The Mini Figure has a wonderfully simple vintage look, with a light blue and white color scheme, chunky squared-off boots, and silver accents across the helmet and shoulders. I especially like the tiny sculpted details on the helmet and chest, which give the figure some extra character despite its small size.

This panel uses vintage-style product photography to show the armored truck changing into Delta Magnus, complete with a bold “CHANGE” arrow between modes. The limited tan-and-blue palette makes it look like artwork lifted straight from an early Japanese toy box.

The stat grid is deliberately buried beneath dense red crosshatching, turning the included Secret Film into a decoder for revealing his ratings. It is a clever interactive packaging feature pulled straight from vintage Japanese toy boxes.

The narrow end panel has a catalog-like layout, pairing a full-length robot-mode product photo with the blue Energy Shot Gun against simple red and blue blocks.

The artwork wraps around the box corner, turning this narrow end into a continuous illustration rather than a separate panel.

This accessory spread includes the Energy Shot Gun, Whote Matrix, Spear Launcer, Powered Belt A, and Powered Belt B, along with Cybertron Power Drive and four silver projectiles still on their sprue. The chrome finish on the Whote Matrix stands out nicely among the mostly red, black, and silver parts.

Delta Magnus’s cab mode has a wonderfully vintage appearance, with boxy cab-over proportions, rivet-like molding, a broad silver stripe, and a tall slatted grille. Clear windows reveal some of the internal mechanical detail without changing that classic toy-truck look.

Around back, the exposed black chassis includes a molded fifth-wheel coupling, twin rear axles, and squared mudguards. Small red, white, and blue taillight decals give the otherwise plain rear blocks a proper vintage-toy finish.

With the Armored Carrier unfolded, the gray interior deck reveals dense mechanical molding, ramps, hinges, and exposed screw heads that are mostly hidden in trailer mode. The tall blue side towers and red overhead sections retain the chunky construction of the original toy.

A long black crossbar spans the two upright sections, with evenly spaced holes and a square housing at the center. The side profile also exposes the small chrome wheels beneath the blue section and the large circular pivot molded into the opposite tower.

The Armored Carrier’s twin black rear ramps have deep tread molding and tiny warning-style decals. Red-and-white stripes across the lower blue sections add another bit of period toy detailing.

Two black panels with round center pegs sit across the red overhead beam, while the inner blue supports carry molded control-panel detail. The exposed hinges and screws make the Armored Carrier’s old-school engineering easy to appreciate.

In this base configuration, the Armored Carrier forms a broad multi-level setup with the blue cab at one end and the small red wheeled assembly on the gray deck. Seeing everything together shows how consistently the red, blue, black, and gray deco carries across the separate sections.

With yet another reuse of the Optimus Prime mold, Delta Magnus carries the truck details openly in robot mode, with the clear cab windows across his chest, the grille down his abdomen, and the chrome bumper forming his waist. The compact black helmet has sharp yellow eyes and a silver forehead badge that stands out above the broad torso.

From behind, Delta Magnus exposes chrome mechanical detail inside the upper torso and rows of wheels along the hips and lower legs. Even with the added joints and engineering, the broad blue panels and squared black legs preserve that wonderfully chunky vintage appearance.

Opening the cab chest reveals the Whote Matrix set into a broad chrome mechanical panel, with a translucent blue center that breaks up all that silver. The surrounding molded circuitry is far more elaborate than the simple exterior suggests.

From the back, you can see how the cab robot fits securely inside the larger body, with the locking mechanisms gripping it around the legs and lower torso. I like that the open rear panels give you a clear look at exactly how everything locks into place.

Fully assembled, Delta Magnus has that classic towering robot look, with the red cab forming the upper body against the dark blue, gray, and black armor. I really like how the silver smokestacks, broad shoulder sections, and smaller mechanical details come together once everything is locked into its final configuration.

From the back, the completed robot is a full map of the transformation, with the Armored Carrier’s black ramps running along the arms and its blue side walls folded around the lower legs.

The completed armored head frames a silver face in a bright red helmet with tall silver antennae, making it far more imposing than the smaller cab robot. The Energy Shot Gun packs plenty of molded panel lines and mechanical detail into its plain black finish.

Beside the armored head, the Mini Figure barely reaches the top of the silver face, showing just how oversized this helmet assembly is. Up close, the deep rectangular recess at the center of the red helmet is much easier to see up zoomed in.

The red wheeled assembly is the Powered Buggy, with a low wedge-shaped body, oversized rear wheels, and the Energy Shot Gun mounted above the cockpit. The Mini Figure fits neatly into the tiny recessed seat, which gives a much better sense of the Buggy’s intended scale.

The Cybertron Power Drive’s robot mode has a tiny silver face beneath a horned red helmet, with the four black wheels forming oversized shoulders and knees. Boxy forearms and flared lower legs keep its proportions firmly in line with the larger robot.

From behind, the Cybertron Power Drive has a large hollow section through the torso and lower legs exposing its compact transformation engineering. Screw heads, hinge points, and wheel mounts remain plainly visible rather than being covered by extra panels.

The Laser Head dominates this Armored Carrier base formation, with its twin silver antennae resembling oversized cannon barrels when turned horizontally. The Mini Figure beneath it makes the setup feel like a vintage Diaclone command station.

Delta Magnus is shown alongside Ultra Magnus, giving a nice look at how the two versions share the same overall design while taking completely different approaches to color. I really like seeing Delta Magnus’ darker blue, gray, black, and red palette next to Ultra Magnus’ brighter red, blue, and white.
