Mondo 200x Teela and Mer-Man Alternate Head First Looks

Our MOTUFest 2026 toy show coverage continues with a closer look at Mondo’s Masters of the Universe 200X Teela and Mer-Man, specifically the alternate heads. Huge thanks to @badassreviews for providing these first in-hand looks, which give us a much clearer view of the additional portraits included with both figures. We also have @joshbrowntoys to thank for photographing the Mondo booth, giving us full views of Teela and Mer-Man alongside these more focused shots of their alternate display options. As we are covering MOTUFest from our desks and we really wish we could be there live, tt’s been a real community effort covering the show, with different collectors helping fill in the details that can be difficult to capture during a busy convention walkthrough. We previously shared a broader look at the company’s display in our Mondo MOTUFest 2026 booth images, but these new photos let us move beyond the full-figure presentation and get a better look at how Mondo approached the 200X-inspired portraits.

200x Mer-Man

Mer-Man’s big-eyed, open-mouthed head sculpt has the exaggerated creature quality that makes this design so memorable, while the layered gold armor and blue gem accents give him a suitably ornate finish. The long trident and cascading yellow flame effect add plenty of character, especially against the coral-covered sea-creature base and purple crystal detail.

Mer-Man’s alternate head swaps the wide-eyed expression for a scowl, with narrowed teal eyes and tightly bared teeth under the heavy ochre brow. I especially like the ribbed fins around the crown, which give the compact sculpt plenty of layered texture.

This alternate Mer-Man head sculpt has a much more exaggerated creature look, with large turquoise eyes, slit pupils, a wide mouth full of individually painted teeth, and a pink tongue inside. I really like the tall green fins and heavy yellow brow around the eyes, which give Mer-Man a completely different expression from the standard portrait.

This alternate Mer-Man head has a much more wide-eyed expression, with large white eyes, turquoise irises, and tiny painted reflections giving the portrait a ton of personality. The ochre face has a fine scaled texture, while the tall ribbed green fins and broad lower lip keep that classic fish-like Mer-Man look intact.

200x Teela

The white-and-gold armor gives Teela’s 200x design an ornate ceremonial quality, while the turquoise shoulder plates and red gems keep all that metallic detailing from blending together. Her sweeping auburn ponytail adds plenty of character to the head sculpt, and the red shield and broad silver sword carry the same gold accents found across the costume.

Teela’s alternate head sculpt has a focused expression with sharply arched brows and bright turquoise eyes. Her auburn hair sweeps around the face in loose sculpted strands, while the gold tiara with its red jewel and matching gold earrings add some nice finishing detail.

This alternate Teela head gives her a big, warm smile that completely changes the personality of the portrait. Her turquoise eyes, neatly painted teeth, auburn hair, and gold tiara with its red jewel all carry over, but I really like how much expression this head adds.
