ThunderCats are on the move, ThunderCats are loose! Huge thanks to @thundercatsorg and @wewantmorethundercats for sharing these images that leaked out early from a UK shop, giving us our first look at Super7’s Deluxe ThunderCats Wave 5 before Super7 even had a chance to announce it themselves! Boy are we thrilled about this one! This wave features Mumm-Ra, Vultureman, and Panthro, and I can’t be more excited about this lineup. Panthro especially has fans buzzing because it looks like he’s getting the pinless treatment, which is super exciting for anyone who wants a clean, modern look on one of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise. If you recall, the Toy Color ThunderTank came with a pinless Panthro, so if you missed out on that one, here is your chance to now get a pinless Panthro! I always loved Panthro growing up, that no-nonsense attitude and those nunchucks made him stand out from the rest of the team in the best way possible. Vultureman is a really cool deep cut choice for this wave too. The Mutants don’t always get the spotlight they deserve, and seeing him show up in the Deluxe line alongside heavy hitters like Mumm-Ra and Panthro is so much fun. And speaking of Mumm-Ra, you can never have too many versions of the ever-living source of evil, right? No price or release date has been officially confirmed yet, so only time will tell when we can get our hands on these, but the early look alone has the community fired up. So let’s take a look at Super7 ThunderCats Deluxe Wave 5!
Here are some fun shots of all three figures from Deluxe Wave 5, and @wewantmorethundercats put together a nice layout giving you a quick side-by-side look at Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living, Vultureman, and Panthro. Panthro’s grey skin tone and stern expression come through well next to Vultureman’s feathered collar, and Mumm-Ra’s glowing red eyes and open-mouthed snarl steal the show on the left.

Mumm-Ra
The packaging features a bold red and black card design with a stylized serpent emblem at the bottom left. Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living fills the blister window nicely, and you can already get a sense of the teal skin, flowing red and black headdress, and that blue and red loincloth with gold trim through the plastic.

Here’s a closer look at Mumm-Ra’s headdress, and the sculpted detail is impressive, with black serpent forms curling outward from a gold central crest while red tendrils sweep dramatically behind him. The white bandage wraps draped loosely across his teal torso add a nice contrast, and that red serpent medallion on his chest has some great dimensional sculpting.

You can see how Mumm-Ra’s loincloth has a layered construction, with the blue and red fabric piece sitting over a yellow belt that wraps cleanly around his waist. His feet feature those talon-like gold claws extending from each toe, and you can spot what looks like an extra pair of hands tucked into the tray beside him.

Vultureman
The card design for Vultureman uses the same red and black color scheme with the serpent emblem, and you can see his dark blue blaster rifle and what appears to be additional accessories nestled in the tray beside him. I like how the speckled black and white backdrop inside the blister gives the packaging a gritty, almost ink-splattered look that suits the Mutant crew.

A close-up reveals the individual feather sculpting in Vultureman’s shoulder ruffs, where each strand has its own distinct shape and depth, creating a really organic, almost matted texture. I’m really digging the warm tan skin tone across his torso, which contrasts nicely against that bold yellow beak and the darker brown plumage framing his neck.

Vultureman’s vulture head sculpt has a sharply curved yellow beak and narrow, scowling eyes that really sell the character’s conniving personality. The brown feathered ruffs around his shoulders have a great layered texture, and the pleated navy blue skirt paired with a slim brown belt keeps his look clean and cartoon-accurate.

Panthro
Panthro’s packaging follows the same red and black card layout with the ink-splattered blister backdrop, and his nunchucks are tucked into the tray beside him in red and blue. It’s cool to see a pinless construction on the figure through the plastic, which gives his grey and blue color scheme a really clean, uninterrupted look. This is not exactly the same Panthro that came with the Toy Color ThunderTank, as he has different colors and a completely different facial expression.

Panthro’s grey skin has a subtle tonal shift between the lighter chest area and the darker grey of his arms and shoulders, and it’s a small thing that adds a lot of depth to the sculpt. The red and black ThunderCats emblem on his belt buckle sits inside a clean silver ring, and those spiked harness straps frame it perfectly with their bright blue color popping against the muted skin tones.

Here’s a closer look at Panthro’s nunchucks, and you can see they come in two distinct colors, one red and one blue, matching the accent tones on his outfit. The ThunderCats emblem on his belt buckle pops in red against the blue waistband, and those spiked shoulder harness straps crossing his chest have a nice chunky sculpt to them.
