Round two, fight! Jada Toys is stepping back into the ring with another incredible Ultra Street Fighter II release, and this time it’s the Player II version of the heavyweight champ himself, Balrog! This exclusive goes up for preorder tomorrow, September 22nd at 9 AM PT / Noon ET over at our friends at Entertainment Earth, and I am so excited about this one. This 6-inch deluxe action figure features Balrog in his alternate color scheme rocking that orange tank top, orange boxing shorts, and green boxing gloves, and I just love how the Player II colorways always hit different. You’re getting multiple head sculpts, interchangeable hands, a punching effect piece for some really cool dynamic posing, and that premium arcade-inspired packaging that makes these Jada Street Fighter releases look amazing on the shelf. Balrog has always been one of those characters I loved picking in the arcade just to throw those devastating rush punches, and seeing him get the full deluxe treatment in his P2 colors is super exciting. Balrog Player 2 EE Exclusive
Balrog comes outfitted in his Player II orange tank top and matching boxing shorts, with cream-colored trim along the neckline, waistband, and hem. Those bright green boxing gloves with white wrist wraps are a perfect nod to the alternate color palette, and I like how they pop against the orange outfit.
The punching effect piece is a real highlight here, with a translucent burst of jagged energy radiating outward from his green boxing gloves! You can see how the sculpt on his brown lace-up boots features yellow lacing that adds a subtle but welcome color accent to the lower half of the figure.
One thing I noticed right away is the intensity in Balrog’s face sculpt, with his brow furrowed low and his eyes locked forward beneath that dark, close-cropped hair. The white trim on his tank top straps sits cleanly against his skin tone, creating a nice layered look where the fabric meets his shoulders.
Here’s a closer look at the sculpted details on Balrog’s tank top, where you can spot small circular indentations that mimic wear or button snaps in the fabric. The fluffy white fur trim around his shoulders has a nice texture to it, with each tuft individually sculpted rather than smoothed over.
Detailed with white wrapping sculpted around his wrists and lower forearms, the tape work has a layered, overlapping texture that looks like it was wound on tightly. His knee pads sit snugly with a slight bulge at the cap, and the cream trim along their edges ties them back to the rest of the outfit’s color accents.
Sporting his brown lace-up boots planted firmly, Balrog looks absolutely menacing from this lower angle, with the orange shorts and tank top color matching seamlessly across the whole figure. I’m really digging the way the green gloves contrast against the warm tones of his skin and outfit, making the Player II alternate palette feel cohesive rather than random.
It’s cool to see Balrog’s grimacing expression from this angle, with his teeth bared in a snarl that really sells the aggression. The belt buckle is a nice touch, with a clean cream-colored strap cinching the tank top tight at the waist, separating the upper and lower halves of his orange outfit.
A detail that stands out to me is the sculpted texture on Balrog’s hooded robe, with the orange fabric showing subtle folds and creases across the shoulders and sleeves that give it a worn, heavyweight feel. His bare fist on the opposite side reveals individually sculpted fingers curled tight, one of the interchangeable hand options that lets you swap between gloved and ungloved looks.
