Scorpia Coming To MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection

The Evil Horde is about to add their Stinging Horde Enforcer to the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection! According to an anonymous source, Scorpia will be coming to the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection. With the 40th Anniversary of She-Ra and the Princess of Power in full effect, we are seeing some great figures come to the line with Cartoon Collection Waves 23, 24, 25, and 26 which include Catra, Frosta, and Grizzlor, Bow, and Shadow Weaver! There are also some tell tail signs that this figure would eventually be making her way to the line as she was teased on Leech’s card art AND Mattel recently filed for her trademark renewal back in December 2024.

Scorpia History

Scorpia is a character from the 1980’s “She-Ra: Princess of Power” cartoon series. She is one of the evil Horde members and serves as the leader of the Horde’s spy network. Scorpia possesses the ability to control scorpions and uses them as her allies in battle. She is known for her loyalty to Hordak, the main antagonist of the series, and is often seen carrying out his orders with unwavering determination. Despite her villainous nature, Scorpia is a complex character who often struggles with her own moral dilemmas and desires for acceptance and approval from others. Overall, Scorpia is a formidable adversary to She-Ra and the other princesses of power in their quest to defeat the evil Horde.

Scorpia Trademark Renewal

Keeping track of Mattel’s trademark renewals can give us a window into future figures that might be coming down the line for both MOTU Origins and Masterverse lines. Thanks to the Retro Toy Princess for the heads up, Mattel filed to renew the ‘Scorpia’ trademark, who was a character that appeared in the She-Ra and the Princess of Power Filmation cartoon and she was made into a Masters of the Universe Classics figure. In addition to the interesting fact that Scopria’s trademark was renewed, she was also teased on the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Leech card art and the Masterverse Leech box art so it is a toss up whether she will be made for the Cartoon Collection or the Masterverse line but our money is on the Cartoon Collection line. Since this is the 40th anniversary of She-Ra, it would make more sense to have her made for the Cartoon Collection line. This Scorpia trademark renewal is exciting and although Scorpia did not appear on the MOTU Origins Modulok box art, her tooling could easily be made with the new characters they are planning for the MOTU Origins line.

Scorpia MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Tease

One clue we got for The Scorpia trademark renewal was on Leech’s MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection cart art. His package art gives us some really cool teases for Princess of Power characters including Bow, Adora and Scorpia! His package art is a stunning homage to the She-Ra Princess of Power Filmation Episode, “Into Ethera”! Here you can see Adora holding a laser rifle and Leech attacking Bow, while Scorpia is in the background.

Scorpia’s was also teased on Leech’s Masterversse box as we can see a large illustration of him with Scopria and Catra (in cat form) on the front of the box. We also saw Adora teased on the side of the box and we are hoping both figures make it into the line.

She was made into a figure for the Masters of the Universe Classics line as she was never made in the vintage She-Ra and the Princess of Power cartoon in the 1980’s.
