Hollywood Hulk Hogan

The Hulkster comes decked out in his classic shades and Hollywood bandana in his black NWO wrestling attire. In June 1994, Hogan signed with Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and began appearing on television the next month. Hogan won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in his debut match, defeating Ric Flair in a ‘dream’ match at Bash at the Beach. After overcoming the likes of Flair, The Butcher (former partner Brutus Beefcake), Vader, and the Dungeon of Doom for the next eighteen months, Hogan dropped the belt to The Giant at Halloween Havoc 1995 via DQ. Following the controversial loss (which was due to a “contract clause”), the WCW title became vacant.

In early 1996, Hogan feuded with The Giant and with the Alliance to End Hulkamania. After coming out victorious from his feuds, Hogan began to only appear occasionally on WCW programming. It was also around this time, WCW fans began to grow tired of seeing Hogan’s “red-and-yellow good guy” persona they had seen for ten years in the WWF. This led to one of the most talked about moments in wrestling history in the summer of 1996. During a six-man tag team match at Bash at the Beach, Hulk Hogan interfered on behalf of The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall), attacking babyface Randy Savage. This action caused Hogan to turn heel for the first time in fifteen years. After the match, Hogan delivered a now-infamous promo, accosting the fans and WCW for under appreciating his talent and drawing power. This culminated with Hogan’s announcement of the formation of a “New World Order of Wrestling” This statement gave the trio it’s iconic name: The new World order (nWo).

Syxx

Syxx is shown with his red bandana and sunglasses with his infamous tongue sticking out! Upon joining WCW, he immediately became a part of the nWo. Waltman appeared, sitting at ringside, during a live episode of WCW Monday Nitro on September 16, 1996. At one point in the show, he stood up and used a remote control to release nWo propaganda from the ceiling, revealing himself as the newest member of the recently formed heel faction.

To play upon his previous gimmick of 1-2-3 Kid, he was given the name Syxx, supposedly because he was the sixth member of the nWo. Waltman, now known as Syxx, immediately began taunting the cruiserweights, going as far as to steal Eddy Guerrero’s WCW United States Heavyweight Championship title belt, an act that led to a ladder match for the title at Souled Out 1997, which Syxx lost.

Kevin Nash

Bif Sexy features his long brown hair and suglasses with tatoos on his arm. After two weeks of Scott Hall appearing on WCW programming and taunting announcers, wrestlers, and the company, Nash finally debuted alongside his friend on June 10, 1996. The duo were known as The Outsiders, and the storyline pushed them as “invaders” from the WWF (the WWF legal team eventually filed suit against WCW because of this).

At Bash at the Beach, Hall and Nash fought the team of Lex Luger, Sting, and Randy Savage and promised to add one more man to their entourage. With Hulk Hogan, they formed the New World Order (nWo). This angle helped WCW Monday Nitro to win in the ratings against WWF Monday Night Raw for 84 consecutive weeks and arguably helped WCW reach its prime in the mid to late 1990s.

Scott Hall

Scott Hall features his classic red and black wrestling trunks with his red boots and this figure is oozing machismo!

Hall’s first appearance on WCW television after leaving the WWF was on the May 27, 1996 Monday Nitro (which was emanating from Macon, Georgia), on an unannounced interview where he appeared from the crowd in street clothes, claiming to be “an outsider.” He was then joined in the following weeks by Kevin Nash, the two claiming they were going to undertake a hostile takeover of WCW. The angle directly paralleled the real-life competition between the WCW and WWF. At the following pay-per-view, Bash at the Beach 1996, Nash and Hall known as The Outsiders, along with a mystery partner, took on Sting, Lex Luger, and Randy Savage. The mystery partner turned out to be Hulk Hogan, and the three formed the New World Order (nWo). The stable stormed WCW, enlisting such stars as Syxx (Kliq member Sean Waltman), The Giant, and Buff Bagwell.

Hall and Nash, collectively known as the Outsiders, would form one of the most dominant tag teams in professional wrestling history. They closed out 1996 with victories over Sting and Lex Luger at Hog Wild, and WCW’s War Games match at Fall Brawl 1996. They defeated Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) at Halloween Havoc 1996 for their first WCW World Tag Team Championship., and he gave Sherri Martel a big kiss in that match. They successfully defended the titles against The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags) and Faces of Fear (The Barbarian and Meng) at World War 3 1996, and then again defeated the Faces of Fear at Starrcade 1996.
