Since we got our hands on the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Wave 22 official images, we’ve been waiting for the day for when the official card art will be revealed. Today, Roy Juarez teased a portion of each card art for Cartoon Collection versions Tri-Klops, Hordak and Man E Faces. With the simple Instagram post, “👀 #ComingSoon,” Roy dropped the sketches for Wave 22, which are yet to have the colors applied to them. Check out the Masters of the Universe Cartoon Collection Wave 22 Card Art teases for Hordak, Man-E-Faces, and Tri-Klops!

Tri-klops Cartoon Collection

This illustration shows a great pose by Tri-Klops with Stanlan in the background! Stanlan rides a mechanical horse in the episode, The Royal Cousin, and it is great to see that easter egg in this illustration.

Here is the official card front for Tri-Klops and he looks amazing on the new 40th Anniversary Princess of Power card!

You’ll notice that his armor is a lighter green that what appears in the Filmation cartoon but he looks great with his hair hanging down. Looks like he’ll be packed with the Rock Softener featured in the The Royal Cousin Filmation Episode but we are unsure as we have not seen the entire accessory.

Hordak Cartoon Collection

In this illustration, we can see Hordak maniacally laughing and gazing into this time-stop device as he uses it on poor Mantenna!

This version of Hordak is outstanding! As the Cartoon Collection is known for toning down the details, they really poured a lot of sculpting into the ruthless leader of the evil Horde! He features a cartoon accurate face sculpt and they even remembered to paint his eyes and his teeth red! What is also great about this version is that you can finally swap out just his head sculpt as his head is on a ball joint that is not attached to his collar. The official description reads, “This Masters of the Universe toy comes with a removable harness and a time-stop device accessory inspired by the Princess of Power episode “Loo-Kee Lends a Hand.” He comes packaged on the same new Horde inspired Cartoon Collection Filmation She-Ra 40th anniversary card back.

Man E Faces Cartoon Collection

Paying homage to the Mystery of Man-E-Faces Filmation episode, we can see Man-E-Faces monster portrait as he tries to grab a hold of Lara, the Widget, with Kando standing beside her.

Man-E-Faces looks like he has an oversized bucked on his head and he also looks unfinished as he is in the prototype phase in the booth. It looks like you might be able to twist the helmet at the top to change his faces as they only showed off his monster face across all of the days at SDCC 2024. In the Filmation cartoon, he has another pink hose that connects to his helmet, which appears to be missing. They nailed the skin tone and it looks like they did not complete his wrist armor on his left side. Official package reveal is below. He comes packaged on the same new Horde inspired Cartoon Collection Filmation She-Ra 40th anniversary card back.

This figure is inspired by the episode ‘The Mystery of Man-E-Faces,’ the character’s origin story. His rotating faces give storytelling possibilities. Turn… he’s human. Turn again… a robot. Turn again… a monster!
