Gray MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Exclusive Teased in Promo Video

Oh man I am totally buzzing after catching that slick tease in the latest Mattel Creations promo because if you blinked you might’ve missed Gray chilling in a lineup of Preternia Powers of Grayskull figures and I swear it gave me chills seeing him there! I mean, seriously, it really pays to stay on top of these promo drops because here we are talking about what could easily be one of the most intriguing reveals of the year . Gray, is the hidden identity of He-Ro in the Powers of Grayskull mythos, was sneakily placed to the far right among the Powers of Grayskull figures. There’s something about seeing a character teased alongside an entire lineup that just screams “impending arrival,” and while Mattel hasn’t given us a firm date yet, having him visible in a broadly released promo video makes me feel like he’s not just a pipe dream or distant future tease but a real, tangible drop that could very well hit shelves this year. This kind of tease is exactly why I love keeping pace with everything Mattel Creations sends out and you never know when they’re going to slip something this tantalizing into a promo and leave the community buzzing with excitement and we have to thank our good friend toyhuntershollow for the heads up!

The figure is shown mid motion with translucent piece, that reminds me of the Secrets of Grayskull Power Con 2021 exclusive, over the shoulder and around the upper arm, giving the impression that some kind of power is actively being channeled or released. The sculpt has short brown hair and confident facial expression, paired with the sleeveless brown tunic, wrist bracers, belt with circular buckle, and tall boots that keep the look rooted in classic Origins styling. He’s gripping a spear in one hand while the other arm is posed forward, and I like how the energy effect adds movement without blocking the sculpted details, making it feel like the figure is caught right in the middle of casting something.

The card art captures Eldor holding the open Book of Living Spells as energy flows outward toward Gray, who is shown mid transition as his look shifts into He-Ro with the brighter armor, red cape, and confident stance taking shape.
