Havoc Staff Attack Skeletor MOTU Core In-Package Images

We’ve got our first look at the in-package presentation for Havoc Staff Attack Skeletor from the MOTU Core line, and I’m really into how this whole thing is coming together. We first saw the official images and details for these Core figures back in early February, and now seeing Skeletor sealed up in his packaging gives us a much clearer picture of how these will look when they finally hit shelves. The packaging itself carries a style that’s reminiscent of what we saw with the Masters of the Universe Netflix animated series line, which I think is a smart move because it gives the Core figures their own visual identity that feels distinct from the Origins and Masterverse boxes collectors are used to seeing on the pegs. I love how Mattel is willing to mix things up with different packaging approaches depending on the sub-line, especially when the figures themselves lean into action features rather than the collector-focused articulation we typically chase. There’s something fun about seeing a Skeletor figure that’s all about play value and that iconic Havoc Staff getting the spotlight treatment right there on the card. For collectors who don’t want to wait around, this figure is already available to order over on eBay, so if you’re looking to lock one down early, that’s your best bet right now. It’s great to see these Core figures continuing to take shape and the cool packaging design!

The card art features a deep purple color scheme with cosmic swirl effects, with He-Man and Skeletor flanking the window opening. It’s great to see packaging mirroring the Core figure assortment with a totally unique box design and the illustrated Skeletor holding the Havoc Staff in the lower corner is a nice touch, which also is consistent with the Core packaging.

The back of the card keeps the purple and pink Eternia landscape going, with Snake Mountain looking in the background. The lower section includes demonstration photos showing the twist-for-action play feature, along with cross-sell images of He-Man, Battle Cat, and the Roton. The cutout on the back of the box so you can see and feel the back of the figure is a nice touch!

Skeletor sits in the open package with his blue skin and purple hood on full display, along with the soft goods cape draped behind him. The Havoc Staff is secured alongside him, featuring a ram skull headpiece with small green gemstone eyes.

The figure shows Skeletor with a blue body paired with a green skull face, framed by a dark hood that sits over the head and connects to a soft goods purple cape. The chest features a purple collar piece with lightning style paint details, while the silver belt and layered dark loincloth armor add sculpted texture at the waist. Purple forearm bracers and dark boots carry matching lightning accents, and the cape hangs straight down the back with a visible fabric weave.

Alongside the figure is the staff accessory, molded in black with a ram skull at the top featuring curved horns and painted eye details. Translucent purple energy effects attach to the staff in two sections, wrapping around the shaft with sculpted motion lines. In hand, the staff aligns cleanly with the grip, and the arm articulation allows it to be raised without interfering with the hood or cape.
