He-Man Mondo Masters of the Universe 1/6 Scale Figure Timed Edition Preorder

Mondo announced a brand new He-Man 1/6 scale figure that encompasses his classic, battle armor, and thunder punch appearances with tons of weapons and accessories and goes up for a limited timed edition 24-hour preorder on June 21, 2022 . According to Mondo:

Now over six years later, and after 10 different figures in the Mondo / MOTU collection, we are proud to present the return of He-Man to this line. This version is the definitive version that celebrates some of He-Man, as well as some of his most well known accessories from the original Mattel releases in the ‘80s. Though the original figure is amazing in its own right, we felt that if we were going to go back and re-releasing He-Man, there should be a substantial amount of new accessories to make this feel like a deluxe and definitive version. With that in mind, we dug deep into He-Man figures of the past and picked some of our favorite representations of the character.

Weapons and Accessories

Battle Armor

The Battle Armor actually looks like metal with plating and riveting detail. It is super form fitting as not to look as bulky as the MOTU Classics armor did. Change up the head sculpt and you are have a fierce looking version of He-Man for your shelf!

The geniouses at Mondo included an homage to the spinning H action feature found in the original vintage He-Man from the 80’s by inclding a swappable battle damaged and regular piece that snaps right in! In Mondo’s words:

But you can’t do the battle armor without a nod to the original toy’s spinning H mechanism. And, while we couldn’t do the spinning mechanism because of the way our figures are made, we had to include something. Our solution was a swappable “H” that snaps on and off with a magnet. It may not be as fun as a spinning H, but trust us … snapping that H on-and-off is pretty satisfying in its own right.

Thunder Punch

Taking this version of He-Man to the max, Mondo added Thunder Punch armor, the shield that stows the caps that were found in the 80’s vintage toy, changeable wrist cuffs, the translucent Power Sword, and hand energy effects! The crackling detail on the armor is stellar and the straps are also designed with fits and finishes that give it a realistic look. The dio shots are amazing and shows you the different looks you can give He-Man. The shield is off the hook as it pays homage to the original design yet adds a lifelike metal look to it. There is even a place for his caps to stow in his shield just like the original vintage toy!

Florian Bertmer also did incredible work with the packaging design and you can see the pencil illustrations that capture the 3 looks of He-Man! Here is why Mondo wanted to bring back He-Man in their own words:

He-Man has been a part of pop culture, and a part of our toy collections, for decades. We have been lucky enough to add to that rich world, and give collectors something they love. The main reason we decided to bring He-Man back was because we know that a MOTU collection isn’t complete (or can even get started) without a He-Man in it. And since our original release has been long sold out, we felt it was time to bring He-Man back.
