Horde Trooper Prime MOTU Origins Preorder on BBTS and EE

The Horde Trooper Prime and Hover Bot were teased on the Eternia Playset box art, which features the amazing work of @fetch.franciscoetchart, for the deluxe figure set back in May 2024. Back in June 2024, The Whole Shebang just put Horde Trooper Prime up for preorder in the UK with an August 2024 release date, which gives us folks in the United States a better frame of reference for a U.S. release. Since then, Horde Trooper Prime was a Walmart exclusive but it looks like the stranglehold on exclusivity has run out as the Big Bad Toy Store and Entertainment Earth (preorder should go live at 9am PT) have put this up for preorder! He is called the Guardsmen of Doom Tower! Does this mean we will be seeing the Doom Tower playset in our future? Who knows but we can dream by taking a look at Yerco’s 3D printed Doom Tower concept. We’ll be keeping track of preorders and we’ll make updates once this deluxe set goes up for preorder in the U.S.. October 1, 2024 Update: Big Bad Toy Store and Entertainment Earth Preorders

Today, BBTS and EE (check their drop zone as the preorder should go live at 9am PT), have put up the MOTU Origins Horde Trooper Prime for preorder!

We struck gold and found the direct listing to the MOTU Origins Horde Trooper Prime Walmart Listing and the official images! This has been quite a month for Horde Trooper Prime set as we got see in-hand images plus we discovered that the MOTU Origins figure will be a first to market Walmart exclusive. FYI…the listing is not pulling up but we were able to save it to a list for future reference. We expect Horde Trooper Prime and Hover Bot to go up for preorder for Walmart Collector Con 2024, that starts July 25, 2024 at 7am PT / 10am ET.

The Horde Trooper Prime and Hover Bot comes with some very cool accessories, which include Trap Jaw’s arm cannon, Roboto’s axe and claw, and the arm from the Power Con 2021 exclusive Hordak.

To sweeten the deal, he also comes with a soft goods cape and a cool repaint of the MOTU Classics Hover Bot.

First to Market Walmart Exclusive

According to anonymous sources, the Masters of the Universe Origins Horde Trooper Prime and Hover Bot set will be a first to market Walmart exclusive. I am sure this news will be upsetting to most collectors but we expect the deluxe MOTU Origins set to go up for preorder during the July 2024 edition of Walmart Collector Con. If you are not familiar with the term, first to market, it means that Walmart will get to sell the set first for an unknown period of time and, after that time expires, the set can be sold by other online retailers. Previews for Walmart Collector Con start on July 18, 2024 so hopefully we will get to see the Walmart product listing. Speaking of which, we discovered the UPC for the Masters of the Universe Origins Horde Trooper Prime and Hover Bot set during a routine recon trip to our local Walmart. The UPC matches up with the in-hand images from the one and only Mr. Home Arcade.

If you scan the barcode for Horde Trooper Prime with the Walmart app, it now shows that there is a product page but the listing is now showing.

In-Hand Images

In a follow up to his early in-hand images of the Two-Bad MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection SDCC 2024, exclusive, the early in-hand images keep coming as Mr. Home Arcade as sent us another batch of exclusive photos of the Horde Trooper Prime and Hover Robot deluxe set! The Horde Trooper Prime and Hover Bot were teased on the Eternia Playset box art and Roy Juarez released the hi-rez box art, which features the amazing work of @fetch.franciscoetchart, for the deluxe figure set back in May 2024. Box and Art

The front of the packaging has some incredible artwork on it with the MOTU Origins Horde Trooper Prime joined by some Hover Bots and other Horde Troopers being attacked by Snakemen in the background. The MOTU Origins Horde Trooper Prime comes packaged in deluxe style packaging just like Moss Man and Syklone. The window display shows the Horde Trooper Prime figure with 3 Roboto/ Trap Jaw recolored arm attachment accessories. It also includes a red Hover Robot Prime as well! The rear of the package features Horde Trooper Prime surrounded by more Hover Bots and more Red Horde Troopers.

On the inside flap of the box, you can see how to engage Horde Trooper Prime’s action feature, which operates just like the regular release and the Power Con 2021 exclusive version.

Instead of a mini comic, Horde Trooper Prime comes with a collectible card. It reads,” They are the best of the best; the deadliest of the deadly. They are Horde Trooper Prime: the self-replicating elite high security soldiers of Doom Tower, and personal guards of Hordak. Avoid battle with them at all costs.

Figure Details

This is one of the coolest repaints and reuses of a Horde Trooper to date! Clad in crimson red, silver, and black, Horde Trooper Prime means busniess! The different red tones in the figure really add some depth, especially in the robot’s visor.

From the side you can see where the armor connects and how the red cape fits under the gap in the collar of the armor. The silver shoulder armor are nice accents to break of the crimson red color. You can also get a good look at the right arm that holds the attachments.

Here is how the cape looks off of the figure and from the rear, you can see how the cape drapes around the back and it does not cover the collar, which was a great design decision.

Horde Prime’s action feature can be engaged by depressing the silver Horde symbol in the middle of his chest and it functions like the other Horde Troopers.

Horde Prime comes packed with a gaggle of weapons from Roboto and Trap Jaw, that are cast in a semi-translucent red plastic.

Here are the axe and twin laser attachments from Roboto and they look amazing on the figure!

The Hover Robot is cast in the same black, crimson red, and silver color scheme and is a repaint and updated version of the Hover Robot from the Masters of the Universe Classics era.

Here is Horde Trooper Prime guarding Hordak and looking amazing! You can also dress him down and use him as a standard rank and file Horde Trooper and he looks equally as good!

Roy Juarez and his amazing team of artists have revealed the upcoming Horde Trooper Prime MOTU Origins package and it looks absolutely stunning! Horde Trooper Prime is considered the guardian of Doom Tower! The beautiful artwork brings us some Snakemen teases on it as well, with some Snakemen we have seen on the Diabolical Snake Invasion Exclusive Four-Pack and some new characters as well. There is a new deep cut Snake Men tease of Quick Flick, which is very exciting to potentially get him in the MOTU Origins line! We got some incredible Hi-Res Art from @manuel_eduardo_caritas and his incredibly talented team.

Snakemen Teases

In the forefront of the illustration, we have Horde Trooper Prime fighting with Gorgon and Naga Snakemen from the Diabolical Snake Invasion Exclusive Four-Pack.

We also have Reptilax with two additional Snakemen in the background and one more Snakeman with an arrow at the top if the hill as well. Quick Flick is teased, which is the first time he has made it onto the box art!

Quick Flick is a Snake Man archer and was originally developed and illustrated by Axel Gimenez!

Horde Trooper Prime Official Images Reveal

Horde Trooper Prime is a Red and Black Horde Trooper deluxe figure that includes a hover bot robot. Both Were teased on the Eternia Box art as seen below. He comes packed with recolored Trap Jaw accessories and is outfitted with a red cape.

Hover Robots

Thanks to keen eye of Toy Habits Crew Member, Grrrraffe he thinks he spies a red version of the Hover Robots. Hover Robots were metallic, robotic soldiers that served as minions for Skeletor and his Evil Warriors, much like the robotic Horde Troopers served Hordak and the Evil Horde as foot soldiers.A Hover Robot was apparently equipped with anti-gravity technology permitting it to fly. It could attack foes by grabbing them with its mechanical arms, ramming into them with shoulder tackles, using whirling blades, or shooting laser blasts.
