We will show you how to fix your New Eternia Masterverse Beast Man Brown Chest Color in 4 easy steps, and you will love the results!
If you are like me, and you were all excited to get your Masterverse New Eternia Beast Man, just to get him in hand and notice that his torso was brown, while the rest of him is Beasty orange (all be it with a dirty paint wash), and it drove you nuts…; well we are hear to show you how to fix that in 4 easy steps! Well it turns out that Beast Man’s chest is not really brown, nor the wrong color plastic. What happened is the factory applied too much paint wash to his torso, and because his torso has so much texture, the wash really rubbed in there. It also looks like they used a slightly different brown paint on his chest than the rest of the paint wash on the rest of his body. Then it gives the look of him having a brown chest, but guess what? His chest is the same orange plastic as the rest of his body! So what we need to do is simply remove some of the paint wash on his torso so it matches more closely the rest of his body.
So let’s first take a look at the BEFORE and AFTER results below and we then we will show you how to fix your Beasty in 4 simple steps!
Step 1- Prep:
Undress Beastman & grab your supplies! This is super easy, take off his head and remove his chest armor by unclasping the back of the armor in the back and sliding it off from one side of his arm. Just leave Beast Man’s head off before you begin.
Grab your supplies. You will simply need regular household rubbing alcohol, a hand full of cotton swabs and an old toothbrush. I have standard 91% isopropyl alcohol, bought it at Target, but sold just about everywhere. DO NOT use nail polish or any other chemicals to rub off the paint, ONLY household Rubbing Alcohol!
Step 2- Rub off Paint Wash
Simply dip the cotton swaps in the rubbing alcohol and begin to rub the paint wash off your Beast Man’s torso.
Just rub the alcohol-soaked swab around his chest and back evenly and you will start to see the paint wash starting to rub off. Use both ends of the swab, to clean up the excess alcohol. And keep going until you start to see the desired look you are going for. You will want to leave some paint rub on him, but the objective is to let the orange plastic start to show thru so that it resembles the color and look of his arms and legs, an orange color with a brown wash.
It will take multiple swabs, and your swabs will look like this below:
Step 3 – Clean and Dry
Once you think you got enough paint rubbed off, you will want to clean Beast Man off with soap and water. You may notice that when you were rubbing Beast Man with the alcohol covered swabs, it might have left a white cloudy residue. This is normal and will wash off with the soapy water. Just use an old toothbrush to do this. Just use any mild hand soap and water and clean his torso with the soapy toothbrush. Then dry him off with a clean towel. There will still be paint wash on his torso, but you will see that it does not look “brown” like it did before you started. It should look more of an orange plastic color with some brown paint wash, just like the rest of his arms and legs.
Step 4- Re-Dress your Beast Man and he is ready for his photo shoot!
Once you have rubbed off the paint wash, washed Beasty off with soap and water and have the desired look you are going for, simply re-dress Beast Man, and is ready for his close-up Mr. DeMille! Now his torso looks much more even to the rest of his body, and you can enjoy the Beast Man you always wanted!
