GI Joe Classified Series Serpentor Prototype Images Surface

First off, huge kudos to the Birdman for texting us this story via hisstank.com and thank you to hisstank.com for sharing images of a possible leaked GI Joe Classified Series Serpentor figure via Zen from Facebook! Until Hasbro confirms this, consider this speculation but it would be amazing to see another deluxe style figure that went along with Dr. Mindbender’s deluxe figure that is coming out for the GI Joe Classified Series.
Leaked Prototype Images
Several pieces of what appear to be prototypes of various parts of Serpentor have surfaced, including head sculpts, his classic snake, his lower torso, waist, and legs. A fin from his Air Chariot, suggesting that this figure will be packed with his vintage style vehicle is surprising as we thought this figure would come with a gold RAM Cycle (WE ARE JOKING!!!) but hey, anything is possible! A couple things to point out are how well the snake helmet fits around Serpentor’s head and how cool the waist piece with the snake head on it looks!
Serpentor GI Joe Classified Series Concept
There have been several custom GI Joe Classified Series scale customs made of Serpentor over the years and here are a couple of our favorites. They both encorporate the classic snake helmet from the vintage figure design as well as the snake design on the waist piece. Both customs also feature that crackled snake skin look that we hope will make it into the final design, if this is indeed an actual prototype that was leaked.
Air Chariot Concept
Serpentor was originally packed with an Air Chariot back in the 1980’s as he was considered a vehicle driver in addition to a leader. The Air Chariot is gold in color and has a very cool Cobra Snake head and hood design on the front of it. Serving as Serpentor’s means to get around, it was quite compact and had two forward mounted lasers on the front for protection!
There also have been 3D printed designs for a 6″ scale Serptentor figure as this one comes from the website Thingverse. The custom 3D printed version is still very compact and could easliy be made by Hasbro as it is in a similar scale to the RAM Cycle and COILS cycle. This is definitely a much needed vehicle is they were to make a Deluxe Serpentor!
