Well, this is one of those moments where the collecting world turns upside down overnight! A lucky collector in Australia has managed to snag an early copy of the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection King Randor, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally see this royal in plastic form. It’s funny how this all came together as our very own Toy Sorceress had already uncovered listings for both Queen Marlena and King Randor while digging through the Walmart app, and while Marlena’s official image surfaced almost instantly, Randor’s was mysteriously missing in action. That gap sent collectors into creative overdrive, using AI mockups to imagine what the figure might look like. Fast-forward a bit, and thanks to the combined efforts of He-Mania.com and Masterversal Toyhunter, we now have an actual look at the King himself, complete with packaging! The figure perfectly captures his regal animated appearance, and what’s even better is that we get a first glimpse at the card back art—which just so happens to tease Kobra Khan for the second time. Between the art hints and this early find, it feels like the next wave of Cartoon Collection figures is coming together faster than we expected, and that’s always a thrilling moment in the MOTU community.

The card back shows colorful artwork by the talented aprostudio_, of King Randor and Queen Marlena seated on their thrones, watching over a dramatic scene where He-Man faces off against Kobra Khan as Orko hovers nearby casting a spell. King Randor is shown holding his royal staff with red and gold detailing, wearing a blue tunic with a red underlayer and gold crown, while Queen Marlena appears in her classic green gown with gold accents, capturing their animated-style look.

Up close we get to see all of the amazing artistry from xxx and the second Kobra Khan tease, so hopefully he is coming too!

The figure features bright cartoon-inspired colors with a bold red tunic, yellow crown, and deep blue robe that captures the Filmation look perfectly. His staff is sculpted with a flower-like red and yellow head, while the belt and boots match the smooth, clean finish of the outfit. Up close, you can really see the defined paint lines on his beard and eyebrows, along with the neatly molded hair and pendant detail on his chest.

Here’s King Randor coming out of his plastic prison, showing off the bold cartoon colors and crisp sculpt work straight from the package. The grouping of Randors likely marking the spot where this figure was found in the store, all featuring that same bright packaging and signature “Cartoon Collection” branding in the first version of the Cartoon Collection packaging.

The front cover shows bold comic-style artwork featuring a cool illustration of Keldor/Skeletor’s menacing face in the background as King Randor and Queen Marlena stand in the foreground, with Randor holding his sword and Marlena examining her pilot helmet. The title “Courtship” appears across the bottom in large red lettering against a purple backdrop, giving it that classic Masters of the Universe cartoon vibe. The back cover features the Cartoon Collection cross-sell showcasing King Randor and Queen Marlena for this wave.

Joshua Sky also has revealed the hi-res cover for his upcoming MOTU mini-comic titled Courtship!, an epic story about two brothers competing for the love of a woman from the stars. Illustrated by @reilly_brown, The Courtship! mini-comic will come packed with the upcoming MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Queen Marlena and King Randor figures.
