Collectors, here’s a quick but important heads up regarding Masterverse Wave 18! If you preordered the New Eternia Kobra Khan on Amazon, you’ll want to log into your account and double check your order status because some fans are being prompted to approve a delay. We’ve already seen Target go through this same process recently with the MOTU Retro Punching 2-packs, which unfortunately ended in a number of cancellations, so it’s definitely worth taking a moment to make sure your order doesn’t get caught in the shuffle. As of right now, Kobra Khan is sold out everywhere online, so if your Amazon preorder is sitting there waiting for approval, you don’t want to risk losing it. A quick check-in could be the difference between securing him for your collection or missing out entirely.

New Eternia Kobra Khan
The New Eternia Masterverse Kobra Khan figure from Wave 18 features a bulked-up, reptilian design with exaggerated cobra hood detailing and fanged open mouth with a jaw that articulates.

His snake skin includes metallic bronze accents on his scaled chest and boots, and he comes packed with a wide range of accessories to customize his appearance. These include a bright green mace, a translucent purple energy blast effect, swappable claw hands, a snake-themed chest plate, an orange blaster reminiscent of his vintage weapon, and an alternate chest piece with serpent detail.

These additional shots of the New Eternia Masterverse Kobra Khan figure highlight both the back and front views of the character fully equipped. In one pose, Kobra Khan is shown from behind wielding his vintage-style orange blaster, showcasing the sculpted detail of his scaled hood, textured back, and layered bronze belt. The other image presents a frontal combat stance with his alternate chest piece featuring a raised serpent symbol.

These final images of the New Eternia Masterverse Kobra Khan showcase even more of his display potential, emphasizing his alternate serpent head and included effects. One shot features him in a lunging pose with the venom-spitting head in place, using the translucent purple blast effect to simulate an attack, while wielding the bright green mace in his left hand and fitted with swappable clawed hands. The other image displays a more neutral stance with the snake head still equipped and holding his orange blaster, allowing for a more classic look. The variety of accessories and expressive poses emphasize the figure’s versatility and homage to the Snake Men lore.

According to sources, Kobra Kahn will come with with regular hands, claw hands, a removable cobra hood, a blaster, and mace.

Kobra Khan was released in 2012 in the MOTU Classics packaging can obscure the head sculpt, particularly the second head, but for MOC collectors, the consistent design is important. For those who open their figures, this is not an issue. His bio reads, “A descendent of the ancient Snake Men, Khan became fascinated with the many legends of their victories in the Great Wars. Breaking into the archives of Eternos Palace, he learned that the great King Hssss had been locked in the Void at the end of the war. In a ruse to free his King, Khan joined forces with Skeletor and, with the help of Evil-Lyn, they acquired Zodak’s staff, the key to freeing his Snake Men brethren. Together he and Evil-Lyn opened the Snake Pit portal releasing Hssss and his ageless army, returning their terror to Eternia. Khan went on to loyally serve Hssss, controlling his prey with his evil hypnotic mist!”

For the March 2012 release, Kobra Khan, the ambassador between Skeletor and Hssss, has been included. This character has appeared in both the original series and the 2002 reboot, and the new release features subtle references to both versions of the show.
