In traditional Toy Habits fashion, we’ve come across yet another Masterverse Vintage Collection figure listing on Walmart’s website! This time around, we found that Man At Arms is coming to the MOTU Masterverse Vintage Collection Line! With a Vintage Collection Skeletor, Faker, Zodac and Stratos revealed, plus our report of a yellow skinned Evil-Lyn, making their way to the line, Man At Arms adds yet another Heroic Warrior to the line! This would be the fourth Man At Arms in the Masterverse line, but you can never get enough Man At Arms! As the Masterverse Vintage Collection artwork is heavily drawing upon inspiration from the artist Errol McCarthy, we can get a sense of what the box art will look as well as the figure as we revisit the Masters of the Universe Classics design. With Stratos coming to the line, this will pave the way for The Most Powerful Man in the Universe as we are sure he will be a repaint of Faker. Who will come first is a mystery but Stratos and Faker are definitely coming and we hope to see them both make an appearance when Mattel drops their new figure assortments and reveals in March 2025. We’ve only seen these figures offered at Walmart, which makes us think that this line will be exclusive to the online retailer until we hear otherwise.

Man At Arms Vintage Artwork

We are likely to see Man At Arms’ box art pay homage to his vintage artwork, which also teases a classic Teela as well! There is some president for Masterverse figures coming from box art teases and we are sure that a classic Teela will be on her way at some point. We are hoping that @natebaertschart continues to lend his amazing artistic skills to the box art as the iconic scene, first illustrated by Errol McCarthy illustrates a mustache-less Man At Arms scouting the hills of Eternia with Teela following behind. This is a classic card back art and the caption reads “Man At Arms and Teela scout the borders of Eternia for signs of lurking evil!.” The artwork captures the essence of the character and the overall fantasy theme of the MOTU line. Man At Arms was known as a the Heroic Master of Weapons, and was of course a member of the Heroic Warriors and He-Man’s right hand man! The original Man At Arms figure was part of the first wave of Masters of the Universe action figures introduced by Mattel and was mustache-less. It’s not until later when subsequent more modern figures were released that we saw Man At Arms with his classic Tom Selleck stache!

MOTU Classics Man At Arms

The MOTU Classics Man At Arms figure was released in 2009 and he featured two heads so you can display him with or without stache! The MOTU Classics figures were featured on cards with green stonework and a cosmic scene with lightning effects. He included his signature club, a longer dagger, a sword and a small pistol.

Man-At-Arms

His bio read’ “For two centuries, the Eternian weapons master and combat instructor to the loyal family has been called the “Man At Arms” . Trained by renowned tactician Dekker and a veteran of the Great Unrest, Duncan was asked by King Randor to step into this position and fortify his guard with an elite strike force which he named The Masters of the Universe. In addition to his skills in combat, Duncan is also a great inventor and helped construct an electronic version of the Power Sword for Adam to use until he could unite both haves of the Grayskull’s sword. Man At Arms and his adopted daughter Teela often scout the borders of Eternia for signs of lurking evil.”

Man At Arms comes sporting his classic orange armor that wraps his left shoulder and left ankle. His back also has places for him to stow his weapons. This figure comes packed with both his classic mustache-less vintage style head sculpt, and his Selleck style mustache face as well. Man At Arms helmet also included those classic red dots which is a signature feature of that rare vintage figure releases. Overall, the MOTU Classics version of Man At Arms really captured the signature look of his vintage counterpart and is a must have for any MOTU collector. If you still want to pick one of these figures up on the aftermarket you can find him HERE.

Masterverse New Eternia Man Art Arms

Man At Arms was released in the Masterverse line under the New Eternia Subline. This version brought us a classic looking Man At Arms along with some original figure concepts. The overall figure sculpt was one of the best Man-At-Arms designs we’ve seen since the MOTU Classics era! This version of Man-At-Arms was so versatile and you can change up the look with a switch of the helmet or, if you choose, have no helmet at all. It’s cool to see MAA’s face without his helmet and the green balaclava is very detailed and even has space for his ears and, by the looks of it. it appears to be mechanically enhanced! Man-At-Arms comes with an extra set of fisted hands, a mace, a ball and chain mace attachment, and an extra head sculpt sans mustache, and a classic style helmet.

Man-At-Arm’s armor is so vibrant and it’s the perfect shade of orange that compliments his green suit (if that really is a body suit)! The new loin cloth is a great addition to the figure as it separates this figure from the rest.

The mace has a lighter orange, almost metallic tinge to it while the ball is a nice orange that closely matches MAA’s armor. The ball and chain attachment can fit on to the end of the handle by popping off the solid ball at the top of the mace. I am not too fond of the execution of the ball and chain accessory as it looks odd if it’s not in the down position.

Deluxe Revelation Man At Arms

In Man-At-Arms outcast look, he has a simple green outfit that consists of a shirt, that has some cool texturing to it and it looks like it has been sewn or peiced together with scraps of fabric. The head sculpt captures his look from the Masters of the Universe Revelation episode, The Most Dangerous Man in Eternia. He comes with an orange plastic scarf, a utility belt that is removable, a plastic skirt across his waist, and his pants look like they are tucked into his boots.

This version of Man-At-Arms was from the Masters of the Universe Revelation episode, The Most Dangerous Man in Eternia! According to the Wiki Grayskull: “Teela is surprised when the one pilgrim who fought back turns out to be her adoptive father, [Dunan]. Although glad to see her again, he refuses to help forge the two halves of the Sword of Power, reminding them that he is forbidden to weld anything by Royal decree. He then reveals that the exchanged water he collected is not for himself, but for a sick friend he is looking after in his wooden cabin: Orko. Also present is Roboto, who, having been created by Duncan, sees himself as a brother of sorts to Teela. Duncan refuses to join Teela’s quest, but Orko begs to be allowed to join them on one last adventure. Roboto, possessing all of his creator’s memories, offers his services, and unlike Duncan, is willing to reforge the sword. When Duncan picks up his old helmet (which he had been using as a fruit bowl) and says he’ll follow allong, Teela changes her mind. With Roboto to do the forging, Man-At-Arms could better spend his time protecting the Sorceress at Castle Grayskull.”

MAA’s suited up look where he is carrying the large laser canon is amazing! The orange chest armor is a new piece and kudos to Mattel for not simply reusing the first version of his armor. It has some painted accents that bring out the detail in the armor and it goes all the way down to the waist. The back of the armor is rather plain but has a nice defining line to the back. The oversized shin armor is apropos for MAA and the colors tie in with his armor overall! They appear to fit very snug over his boots and they look amazing!

This badass version of Man-At-Arms appeared in a Flashback scene where he came to the aid of He-Man and Teela and laid waste to Mer-Man’s army!

In these side views, we can get a better look at the canon detail as it has some gold and light blue paint apps on it. You can also see the forearm mounted blaster and it fits like a glove with some yellow paint app on the side to accentuate the large wire feeding into the laster. You can also get a fanstic look at the black, oversized shoulder armor with large silver rivets. This MAA looks simply outstanding!

Revelation Man At Arms

Here you can see the first release of Man At Arms that was styled after his look on the Revelation cartoon series. It’s also cool to see a comparison of this version with the New Eternia version and the MOTU Classics release. With the upcoming Vintage collection figure, this will be the 4th Man At Arms in the Masterverse line.
