Man-E-Faces 200x MOTU Origins Deluxe In-Hand Images

Fresh in from Mr. Home Arcade, who just sent us some fantastic in-hand pics of the Man-E-Faces 200x MOTU Origins Deluxe figure, and this one looks even better outside of official promo shots. We’ve been tracking this release for a while now, going all the way back to when we first reported that Man-E-Faces and Whiplash were coming to 200x MOTU Origins as Deluxe figures, and then again when Mattel revealed the Man-E-Faces 200x MOTU Origins Deluxe Cartoon Collection official images. Now that we can see him in hand through Mr. Home Arcade’s coverage, the face-swapping gimmick and the 200x-inspired sculpt really come through in a way that flat product photography just can’t capture. The proportions look solid, with that chunky, armored silhouette staying faithful to the Mike Young Productions design while still fitting within the Origins aesthetic. The color separation on the different faces is clean, and the overall paint apps appear tight from what these images show. If you’re collecting the 200x Cartoon Collection line, Man-E-Faces has always been one of the more visually interesting characters to translate into this format, and it looks like Mattel nailed the balance between nostalgia and updated detail. Packaging

Mr. Home Arcade gives a great look at both the front and back of the Man E Faces 200x packaging, and you can really see how much the figure fills up that window box, leaving almost no empty space around the bulky armored frame. The back card art depicts a scene from “The Monster Within,” with a painted illustration showing him mid-battle alongside other figures in the wave.

You can see both side panels of the box here, each featuring bold comic-style artwork. One side shows a close-up of the massive armored torso and helmet from a straight-on angle, while the other depicts a full-body illustration set against a wooded Eternian landscape, with a scowl visible beneath the helmet visor.

The collectible card included with Man E Faces 200x features front artwork of the character standing on rocky terrain in full 200x armor, while the back shows the monster face sculpt above the text: “Heroic Human… Robot… Monster! When Man-E-Faces is controlled in Monster Mode by the evil Beast Man, he wonders who he is, and how he can be the best version of himself.” Honestly, a Deluxe figure like this with such deep 200x roots deserved a mini comic rather than a small card, since the original 200x line thrived on its storytelling and a comic insert would have been the perfect way to honor that.

Figure Details

The front view shows the full scope of that 200x redesign, from the segmented knee guards and the angular loincloth to the ribbed center strip running up the chest plate, all wrapped in a heavy mix of gray armor over exposed muscle. The back reveals just how much sculpted real estate the shoulder armor and helmet cover, with a pair of cylindrical ports molded into the upper back plate and detailed stitching along the edges of the gauntlets and boot cuffs.

These side-by-side profile views confirm how symmetrical the figure is from both the right and left, with the shoulder pads, gauntlets, and boot armor mirroring each other cleanly without any side-specific sculpted details breaking the balance. The exposed upper arms and the circular rivet on each shoulder strap line up perfectly across both angles, giving the armored silhouette a uniform, tank-like quality from every lateral view.

You can see all three portraits side by side here as the helmet turret rotates via the twist mechanism at the top of the head, cycling from the human face on the left with its stern, narrowed expression, to the fanged monster in the center, and finally the robot face on the right with its segmented visor. Each face sits recessed inside the helmet opening, and the rotation snaps cleanly between all three positions without any overlap between sculpts.

You can see here how Man E Faces 200x breaks down into its individual components, and what stands out is that the face turret isn’t a removable drum like previous versions. Instead, the three faces are permanently sculpted inside the helmet itself, meaning the head and helmet function as one integrated piece rather than separate swappable parts.

Man E Faces 200x looks imposing posed with his blaster extended outward, and you can see the chunky, layered sculpt on the weapon with its ribbed grip and squared-off barrel. The heavy armor plating running down the legs and the segmented chest piece with its ridged center strip tie the whole 200x redesign together nicely.

The 200x body’s broader shoulders and thicker torso make the smaller Mini Comic helmet look almost undersized, while the oversized 200x helmet dominates the Mini Comic body’s leaner frame in a fun way.

You can see the 200x torso on the left is significantly larger than the standard MOTU Origins torso beside it, with broader pecs, a wider back, and deeper abdominal sculpting that makes the standard body look almost slim by comparison. The neck ball joint sits higher on the 200x piece as well, matching the overall increase in mass across the entire chest cavity.

The 200x helmet on the left is a single hollow shell with all three faces sculpted directly into its interior walls, while the Filmation version on the right uses a separate head piece that pops out entirely from between the two helmet halves flanking it. This is a really clear breakdown of how fundamentally different the 200x engineering is, since the head and helmet are one inseparable unit rather than a removable drum sitting inside a standalone shell.

Mr. Home Arcade shot this from directly inside the helmet, and it’s a perfect angle to see how the face turret mechanism is recessed into the cylindrical housing, with the rotation knob at the top connecting to the internal drum. The red rope-like collar pieces loop outward from the base of the assembly.

From left to right, you get a lineup comparing the MOTU Origins, Mini Comic, 200x, and Filmation versions of Man E Faces, all displaying their monster face sculpts. Each helmet design carries a distinct silhouette and proportion, with the 200x version towering over the rest thanks to that oversized, heavily armored frame and bulkier shoulder construction.

From left to right, the robot face sculpts across the Origins, Mini Comic, 200x, and Filmation versions each bring a completely different interpretation, ranging from the flat mechanical features on the bookend figures to the more angular, heavily detailed visor on the 200x version. The Mini Comic variant sports a darker, more skeletal robot design compared to the cleaner, more classic takes flanking it.

Switching to the human face sculpts across the same lineup, you can see how each version captures a different personality, from the wider, more classic features on the Origins and Filmation bookends to the sharper, more stern expression on the 200x version with its narrower jaw and deep-set brow.
