A huge thank you goes out to Toy Habits Crew Member Frankie Rivera for the heads up that the McFarlane DC Retro Super Friends Wave 3 figure assortment was revealed during the McFarlane Toys Show Batman Day Special YouTube live stream! This new assortment lines up perfectly with the Wave 3 leaked list we caught wind of back in June 2025, and it’s always a thrill when those early rumors end up being spot on. Wave 3 is packed with classic characters that tap into that vintage Saturday morning cartoon nostalgia with Aquaman, Bizzarro, Bizzarro Batman, and Brainiac joining the lineup, plus the iconic Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna, who even come with their trusty monkey companion Gleek! Seeing these figures come together in one wave makes it feel like McFarlane is really digging deep into the Super Friends roster so lets dive into these images and see how they bring these colorful characters to life.

Bizzaro
Bizarro comes decked out in his reverse Superman look with the bold backwards “S” symbol on his chest, standing out against his blue suit and red trunks. His red cape has a textured inside, giving it some nice depth, and the head sculpt shows off a grimacing face with sharp cheek lines and slicked-back black hair. The figure has red boots and a yellow belt to complete the classic style straight out of the Super Friends era.
Bizzaro Batman
This Bizarro Batman sports the same grey suit and blue gear as the classic look, but with his trademark twisted details. The chest emblem flips the bat symbol upside down, giving it that distorted Bizarro feel. His blue cowl, gloves, trunks, boots, and cape stick to the retro Super Friends style, while the head sculpt captures a slightly warped expression under the mask. As McFarlane’s DC license expires at the end of 2025, they are really ratcheting up the releases and this latest leaked list has some great figures on it! I’m so excited to see what these new Wave 3 figures are going to look like. This wave consists of Aquaman, Bizzarro, Bizzarro Batman, Brainiac and Zan! Super Friends was my all time favorite cartoon series growing up. Any child of the 70’s has fond memories of watching the Super Friends. The show featured a team of superheroes from DC Comics, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and others, who came together to form the Super Friends. The series was known for its positive messages and lessons for children, as well as its action-packed adventures with the superheroes fighting against various villains to protect the world. The show also featured the sidekicks of the superheroes, such as Robin, Aqualad, and the Wonder Twins, who helped the team in their missions. Throughout its run, the Super Friends series went through various iterations and changes, including different team members, storylines, and animation styles. It was popular among children and comic book fans alike, and remains a beloved part of superhero animation history.
