The Ocean Warlord is swimming our way because thanks to veebstoys, we get to enjoy these incredible Mer-Man Masters of the Universe Vintage Collection in hand images! A super classic looking Mer-Man is the latest addition to the Masterverse Vintage Collection and he looks swimmingly perfect! On a day when we learned that the Masterverse line is coming to an end at the end of 2026. it’s a shame because they are finally hitting their stride with these Vintage Collection figures! With MOTU Classics vibes but a more simplistic vintage charm and better articulation, these new Vintage Collection have been my favorite versions of the classic MOTU characters thus far. So let’s check out the Mer-Man Masters of the Universe Vintage Collection in hand images!

Packaging Design
The figure is framed inside the box with teal skin, yellow armor pieces, and orange details clearly visible through the window. I’m drawn to how the colors contrast against the darker, more chaotic artwork that wraps around the packaging.

Mer Man is shown swimming forward with his sword extended, legs kicked back as bubbles trail behind him. I like how the surrounding sea creatures and angled weapon give the scene a strong sense of motion, like he’s slicing straight through the water. Mer-Man is depicted here in his natural element, a powerful and commanding figure. Though the character has occasionally been portrayed as somewhat simplistic, this illustration rejects such interpretations, instead presenting Mer-Man as a master of his aquatic domain. The detailed rendering emphasizes his control over the environment, showcasing his inherent strength and intelligence. This portrayal aligns with McCarthy’s broader artistic vision, offering a nuanced and dignified representation of a character often reduced to less complex roles in other depictions.

Figure Design
The Vintage Collection Mer-Man comes packed with 2 additional hands, his classic trident and his corn cob sword!

Full views of Mer-Man front and back. You can see his simplistic design, but it is so charming.
A closer view of Mer-Man holding his trident. His chest armor has some nice paint app details with some oranges and a green gem in the center. He even has his classic green belt and orange furry loin cloth, just like his vintage counterpart.

Mer-Man’s facial expression is just like his vintage counterpart. I love that they kept his face sculpt looking super classic and didn’t mess with it to “modernize” this version.

A close up view of Mer-Man from the rear. He even has a place to store his corn cob sword.

When you see all the Vintage Collection baddies posed together, it really illustrates how great this new sub-line is coming along. The figures have a great classic design but in Masterverse scale and they look fabulous!

And finally all the Mer-Men together!

Artwork
Mer Man twists mid swim while gripping the trident with both hands as fish dart across the scene. The angled body and downward trident make it feel like he’s closing in on a target just outside the frame.

The artwork pulls back to reveal a larger underwater environment with Beast Man carrying Teela back into Castle Grayskull among rocky formations. I like how this adds scale to the scene and places Mer Man within a broader moments in the scene.

Mer Man is shown swimming forward with his sword extended, legs kicked back as bubbles trail behind him. I like how the surrounding sea creatures and angled weapon give the scene a strong sense of motion, like he’s slicing straight through the water. You can also see an up close view of Skeletor inserting the Power Sword into Castle Grayskull to open the door.
