MOTU Core Wave 3 and 4 First Look
What a way to start the week, because just when we thought the flood of Masters of the Universe movie figure reveals was starting to settle, online retailers like Big Bad Toy Store went ahead and dropped preorder listings for not one but two additional waves of Core figures that nobody saw coming. We’ve been tracking every reveal and preorder window in our ultimate preorder guide, and even with all that coverage, Waves 3 and 4 caught us completely off guard. Wave 3 appears to be a tighter two-figure wave featuring Man-At-Arms and He-Man, while Wave 4 expands things out to a full four-figure wave with Ram Man, Tri-Klops, Teela, and Skeletor, which is a seriously strong roster that covers both heroes and villains in one shot. Now here’s the interesting wrinkle: the retailer listings went up without any images attached, but the @mastersmovie Instagram handle came through with reels showing off the figures, giving collectors their very first look at what these waves actually bring to the table. It’s been quite a day for the MOTU movie line overall, and seeing the Core lineup extend this deep this quickly tells us Mattel is not holding back when it comes to building out the roster ahead of the film’s release. Ram Man and Tri-Klops in particular have me fired up since those are exactly the kind of characters that signal the line is moving beyond the obvious headliners and into territory where the full world of Eternia starts to take shape. Feast your eyes on the first look images below, and if you’re the type who likes to lock in preorders early, now is the time.
Waves 3 and 4
The @mastersmovie handle dropped reels today showcasing the full Masters of the Universe Core Figure Assortment lineup, and it’s a lot to take in. The spread covers the figures that went live today alongside first looks at the Wave 3 and Wave 4 additions, including Man-At-Arms, Tri-Klops, Ram Man, and new versions of He-Man, Teela, and Skeletor, plus larger items like Battle Cat, the Roton, a Sky Sled set, and a scaled Power Sword prop.

Where to Buy

Wave 3
He-Man sports a noticeably darker color scheme here compared to the first Core release, with deep grey armor, darker wrist guards, and muted tones throughout. There’s what looks like a tattoo on his arm, though the small image size makes it tough to confirm finer details like whether there’s paint around the eyes.

Man-At-Arms was previously only available in the Amazon exclusive 4-pack, so it’s great to see him getting a single carded release here in Wave 3. He’s sporting his classic green and brown color scheme with a blue helmet and matching belt, holding his signature mace aloft.

Wave 4
Teela MOTU Core Wave is a different version than the v1 release, and the most obvious change is her hairstyle, which is now pulled up into an updo instead of worn down. She’s holding a silver sword and wearing a gold and white outfit with dark strapping across the legs and deep red boots.

Ram Man is looking great, and it’s awesome to see him join the Core line. He’s wearing his signature silver helmet and heavy shoulder armor over a red tunic, with dark green leg guards and a hefty axe in hand.

We are getting a translucent Skeletor with purple accents on the boots, gauntlets, and trunks, a color combination that nods to his vintage palette while keeping the movie aesthetic intact. He’s draped in a long black cape with a hood framing that yellow skull, as he’s carrying his Havoc Staff.

Tri-Klops MOTU Core Wave is looking awesome, pulling heavily from his Chronicles counterpart with that olive-drab tactical outfit, signature visor helmet with the red lens, and a chunky sniper rifle slung over his shoulder. The brown leather strap across his chest and gold arm bands add some nice contrast against all that muted green and grey.
