ThunderCats are on the move, ThunderCats are loose! Well, technically it’s the Mutants who are on the move this time, because we now have the Super7 ThunderCats Ultimates Wave 13 Skycutter and Vultureman in hand and they look amazing! We first brought you the official images and preorder details for this wave back when Blake Wright from Toy Collectr Magazine unveiled them on the Geek Dad Life livestream, and now collectors are finally getting these in hand and we could not be more excited to share our first hand photos by our very own Toy Sorceress with you. The LJN toy variant Vultureman looks just like the vintage figure with that cool chest holster for his blade, and the Mutant Skycutter is an absolute beauty with those spinning blades on the wing tips and those classic yellow accents. I love how Super7 continues to pair figures with vehicles in this line, just like they did with Mandora and the Electro Charger and Copper Kid and the Space Racer. It really gives the ThunderCats Ultimates line a depth that takes me right back to those original LJN days in the mid-80s. We picked ours up from Big Bad Toy Store. So let’s take a look at the Super7 ThunderCats Ultimates Skycutter and Vultureman in hand images!

Where to Buy

Packaging
The Vultureman figure is packaged in a black window box, with the figure and his accessories displayed behind a clear plastic tray alongside multiple interchangeable heads and hands. Below it sits the Skycutter vehicle box, where you can see the gray and yellow vehicle with its spinning blade accessories and what appears to be the removable laser cannon through the window.

Vultureman is displayed in his packaging tray, wearing his blue pleated tunic with a matching blue cross-body holster strap, both secured with silver buckles. An alternate open-beak head, a pair of swap-out hands, and what looks like his claw staff and dagger are all packed alongside the figure.

The back of the Vultureman packaging features a large illustration of the character wielding his circular saw weapon, with his blue tunic, yellow beak, and brown feathered body rendered in a style that feels true to the original animated series. A character bio beneath the artwork details his role as Castle Plun-Darr’s resident inventor and his scheming alliances across Third Earth.

The Skycutter vehicle sits in its packaging, with the gray body and yellow wing accents clearly filling the window. The retractable saw blades are tucked along the wing tips, and the orange handlebars and control panel area are a nice nod to the vintage LJN design.

The back of the Skycutter packaging features a large photo of the vehicle in flight with a figure riding it, showing off its blue-gray body, yellow accents, and the laser cannon firing effect. Four smaller inset photos highlight individual features: the retractable saw blades along the wings, the laser cannon effect piece, the interchangeable seats, and the detailed cockpit dashboard.

The Skycutter packaging features box art showing Vultureman riding the vehicle through the sky, with the gray-blue body, yellow wing tips, and the translucent pink laser cannon effect piece all prominently displayed. I like how the photo of the actual vehicle overlaps the edge of the box, giving a nice sense of the Skycutter’s scale and wingspan outside of packaging.

SKycutter & Vultureman Details
Vultureman sits in the Skycutter’s cockpit, gripping the yellow handlebars with the laser cannon extended and its translucent red firing effect piece attached. The interchangeable yellow seat back and the gray saw blade mounted beneath the wing give the vehicle a chunky, toy-accurate look that fits right in with the vintage LJN spirit.

Vultureman rides the Skycutter from a side angle, his brown feathered mantle and open-beak head sculpt catching the light nicely against the gray and yellow vehicle. The circular saw blade mounted on the far wing tip and the translucent red laser effect piece on the cannon add a lot of personality to the setup. The wheels fold down nicely and the saw blades pop out of the corners and can be retracted. Also the wings are able to be moved up and down with ratchet joints, so they have a nice movement to them.

Vultureman is posed leaning forward over the Skycutter’s cockpit, with the translucent red laser cannon effect piece firing from the front cannon. The saw blade tucked under the near wing and the flat, angular nose of the vehicle give the Skycutter a nice sense of bulk at this scale.

Vultureman grips the Skycutter’s orange handlebars with his open-beak head turned slightly to the side, showing off that bright yellow beak and the pink mouth interior. The brown feathered mantle has a nice weight to it where it drapes across his shoulder, contrasting with the bare skin tone of his arms and the blue pleated tunic below.

Vultureman holds his silver claw staff while posed alongside the Skycutter, his open-beak head sculpt showing the red mouth interior against the bright yellow beak. The blue holster strap with its silver buckle sits cleanly across his bare chest, with the dagger handle just peeking out from behind the feathered mantle.

Vultureman stands beside the Skycutter, holding his claw staff with its silver tri-pronged tip and curved handle. The vehicle’s gray body and orange torpedo-shaped cannon tip dominate the frame, with the yellow seat back rising just behind the cockpit area.

The Skycutter is shown from a side profile, with its angular nose and gray wing sweeping forward to the sharp, blade-like tip. The yellow accents on the wing tips, seat back, and cannon barrels contrast nicely against the matte blue-gray body, and that flight stand underneath keeps the whole vehicle elevated cleanly off the surface.

The Skycutter’s cockpit area is shown up close, with the orange handlebars, yellow seat back, and gray body all fitting together in a clean, blocky design faithful to the vintage LJN toy. A small yellow lever detail sits just behind the handlebars near the seat, and the torpedo-shaped cannon tip at the nose has a nice rounded sculpt.

A close-up of the Skycutter’s control panel reveals a targeting reticle screen flanked by small red and white indicator lights, with horizontal vent slits sculpted across the top of the console. The orange handlebars extend out from either side, each tipped with a flat, arrow-shaped grip that looks like it would seat Vultureman’s hands securely.

A close-up of the Skycutter’s torpedo-shaped cannon housing shows the textured yellow padding wrapped around the gray barrel, its surface carrying a slightly rough, matte finish that contrasts with the smoother plastic of the vehicle body. The small control panel behind the handlebars has tiny sculpted indicator lights in red and white, sitting just above the yellow lever detail near the cockpit.

A close-up of the Skycutter’s fuselage reveals an exposed mechanical bay running along the side, with sculpted piping, conduit lines, and small red-capped valves nestled inside a recessed channel. One detail I really like is the small yellow arrow decal near the front of the bay, a subtle touch that adds a functional, mechanical feel to the vehicle’s design.

A close-up of the Skycutter’s retractable saw blade shows the cream-colored disc with its finely sculpted serrated teeth, mounted on a gray bracket beneath the wing. The lever mechanism connecting the blade to the wing body has a solid, functional feel, with its squared-off housing and recessed pivot point.

A close-up of the Skycutter’s laser cannon shows the ridged yellow barrel housing and rounded muzzle tip, with horizontal grooves sculpted across the rectangular body of the cannon. The gray mounting bracket where it connects to the vehicle’s nose has a clean, mechanical look with a recessed circular port on the side.

This version of Vultureman is really giving off LJN vintage toy color vibes and is a wonderful homage to his vintage counterpart. Armed with a silver tri-blade weapon, Vultureman stands here with his blue pleated tunic and matching cross-body holster strap. The brown feathered mantle sits heavy on his shoulders, and his closed-beak head sculpt shows off those sharp yellow eyes and blue-gray plumage on top.

A close-up reveals the alternate head sculpt work on Vultureman’s open-beak head, with the pink mouth interior, bright yellow beak, and those piercing orange-yellow eyes all looking sharp up close. The dagger is tucked into the blue cross-body holster strap, its silver blade and curved hilt catching the light nicely against his bare torso.

From the back, the feathered mantle on Vultureman’s shoulders has a really nice layered sculpt, with individually carved feathers overlapping in a natural pattern that gives the piece a lot of texture. His blue pleated tunic hangs cleanly below, and you can just catch the curve of his yellow beak and teal crown as his head turns to the side.

Vultureman’s bird-like feet are on full display here, with their sculpted talons and digitigrade legs adding a lot of character to the figure’s lower half. The silver tri-blade weapon, which serves as his claw staff, has a looped, almost lasso-like shape that gives it a distinct silhouette.

Vultureman holds his claw staff with its silver double-bladed tip, the weapon’s crosshatched grip texture adding a nice tactile detail to the sculpt. His blue tunic has a clean pleated drape at this angle, and the silver buckle on the holster strap catches the light where it meets the feathered mantle.

The sculpt on Vultureman’s feathered mantle shows real depth up close, with the dark brown plumage cascading down from his shoulders and framing the silver crossguard of the dagger tucked into his blue holster strap. His closed-beak head as a stunning homage to the LJN version, has a stern, focused look to it, the teal crown sitting cleanly against the tan skin tone of his forehead.

Vultureman is posed with his open-beak head and claw staff, and an alternate closed-beak head and extra pair of swap-out hands sit at his feet. I like how the taloned feet really sell the bird-hybrid design, with those elongated toes gripping the surface naturally.

Taking a closer look you can see that this version of Vultureman is his LJN toy variant version. He has a cool holster for a blade he is wearing around his chest, just like the vintage toy! The Skycutter looks classic like the vintage LJN toy! It has great detail and I love the yellow accents and spinning blades on the ends of the wings.
I love these diorama images!
