ThunderCats are on the move and ThunderCats are loose in a big way with a surprise reveal of the MOTU Origins ThunderCats Wave 3 assortment, plus brand-new preorders for the King Randor MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection figure! I love mornings like this, when it feels like the collector gods decide to bless us all at once, and seeing Randor finally step into the Cartoon Collection feels like a moment that’s been a long time coming. He looks fantastic in those Filmation-inspired colors, and I couldn’t help grinning seeing the head of the Eternian Royal Family finally take his throne in this sub-line. And even though Wave 3 of the ThunderCats crossover figures leans into repaints, I’m honestly thrilled that we’re getting Panthor-Man as a fresh addition to the lineup, alongside cartoon-styled takes on Panthro and Lion-O that give them a whole new personality. It’s fun seeing this crossover line continue to grow and evolve, especially when it mixes that nostalgia I love with little surprises that make collecting feel exciting all over again. I’ve rounded up everything you need to know, from the preorder details to the official images, so you can get a look at every figure heading our way with the MOTU Origins ThunderCats Wave 3 assortment and the King Randor Cartoon Collection preorder drop!

King Randor
The King Randor figure from the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection Filmation line. The figure is closely based on Filmation’s design for the father of Prince Adam. King Randor is one of my personal favorite characters, and I have always wanted a cartoon accurate version in his royal outfit! And of course a Cartoon Collection version would be perfect! Well now we know he is coming to the MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection and we have receipts! This version of Randor is inspired from the episode “The Magic Falls”, and comes with a Scepter of Power, a Sword and a royal removable cape!

Official Product Description: It’s an exciting time to be a Masters of the Universe fan! For longtime fans and for a new generation of kids who love action and adventure, it’s time to experience the thrilling action and adventures of He-Man, Skeletor, the secrets of Castle Grayskull and much more! The figures in this collection stand 5.5 inches tall and have 16 moveable joints so they’re highly poseable for imaginative and action-oriented fun, Masters of the Universe style! Longtime fans will appreciate both the vintage design details that honor the heritage of this beloved adventure franchise and the design updates that add an exciting look to the future.

The figure features a bright blue cape with smooth folds paired with a red tunic and gold belt, and I can really see the sculpted beard and hair detail under the cleanly painted gold crown while the silver sword shows crisp edges and a simple hilt design. From the back, the cape drapes evenly and the puffed sleeves with gold cuffs keep the animated look consistent, and the raised arm highlights the red and yellow staff with its flower-shaped top that brings more color into the overall design.

ThunderCats Panthro Man
The figure retains the same build and furry loincloth from the original release but stands out with its bold color swap and subtle paint differences that tie him perfectly to Skeletor’s savage steed.

Official Product Description: Masters of the Universe and ThunderCats, two iconic 80s action figure brands, come together to bring an exciting and nostalgic collaboration to life. Key ThunderCats characters are reinterpreted in Eternian style and Masters of the Universe characters are interpreted in ThunderCats’ style. These MOTU Origins toys at 5.5-inch scale have 16 points of articulation and deluxe detail with armor, accessories and modular body parts. A crossover mini-comic is included for story context. These toys are a must-have for nostalgic ThunderCats and MOTU fans alike.

The figure shows a deep purple body paired with metallic green armor that wraps across the chest, and I can really see the bat emblem set into the center with clean paint details. His helmet features sharp ridges and a textured fur-like pattern around the jaw, while the large clawed gauntlets and matching shin guards add more sculpted depth. From the back, the harness displays two circular ports and the shaggy gray loincloth hangs under the belt, with the green armor pieces keeping a consistent classic Panthor feel across the entire design.

Panthor-Man reuses the Battle Cat-Man sculpt but trades out the bright greens for a striking mix of deep purple fur and metallic teal armor. His chest harness, bracers, and helmet gleam with a greenish metallic sheen, while the snarling feline face beneath the mask channels Panthor’s feral energy.

ThunderCats Lion-O Ver 2
The figure features Lion-O in his second version for the MOTU Origins ThunderCats crossover line. His deep red hair contrasts sharply against the golden chest armor emblazoned with the ThunderCats insignia, while his blue boots, belt accents, and bracers pop against his tan fur trunks. The figure comes packed with the Sword of Omens and an alternate clawed gauntlet, all displayed in a dynamic card back exploding with vibrant reds and blues that tie the Masters of the Universe and ThunderCats worlds together.

Official Product Description: Lion-O, the Lord of the ThunderCats, battles back the Ancient Forces of Evil from Third Earth to Third Eternia. Side by side, the two Lion-O versions highlight a major shift in tone and accuracy. Version 1 sports the brighter cartoon-inspired look with a more orange skin tone, lighter blue outfit, and simple gold belt, while Version 2 adopts a deeper, more vintage toy-like aesthetic with muted tan skin, a darker blue harness, and metallic gold armor extending across his chest and shoulder. The newer version also tweaks the hair color, giving Lion-O a slightly redder mane.

ThunderCats Panthro Ver 2
Panthro’s second version in the MOTU Origins ThunderCats crossover line has a dark blue chest harness and belt featuring the red ThunderCats emblem, while his signature blue boots tie the color scheme together. Like in v1, the figure comes loaded with recolored accessories, including his nunchucks with red and blue handles, a battle axe, and a chained mace.

The comparison between Panthro Version 1 and Version 2 shows a complete tonal shift from bright to battle-worn. Version 1 features a lighter blue skin tone, golden armor accents, and brown belt and loincloth details that give him a vibrant, heroic feel. In contrast, Version 2 darkens the palette with a gray skin tone, silver armor, and a navy-blue outfit.
