Mr. Home Arcade keeps the 200x MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection momentum rolling by following up his recently shared 200x Skeletor in-hand images with a fresh look at Prince Adam, giving collectors a nice one-two punch from opposite sides of the storyline. After seeing Skeletor posed up and photographed in-hand, it’s great to now see Prince Adam step into the spotlight, helping round out how this wave looks once the figures are out of the box and displayed. This article is all about showing how Prince Adam fits alongside what we’ve already seen from the 200x Skeletor release, offering a better sense of consistency, scale, and overall presentation for the Cartoon Collection as it continues to take shape. The diorama-style setup keeps the focus squarely on the figure while adding just enough atmosphere to make the shots feel lively and intentional like was straight out of Eternia. As always, huge thanks to Mr. Home Arcade for continuing to deliver high-quality in-hand photos that help collectors decide what’s headed for their shelves next. Also, keep an eye out for his video review on his YouTube Channel coming soon!

The figure is shown sealed on the card with the red vest, white shirt, and purple pants clearly visible through the blister. I’m noticing how the yellow accessory is placed to the side while the portrait and chest details read cleanly straight on, giving a clear look at how the figure presents right out of the package.

This is the card back from the Prince Adam 200x MOTU Origins Cartoon Collection, with artwork inspired by the 2002 episode “The Courage of Adam,” a key story that puts the spotlight on Adam stepping up without becoming He Man. Next to the cross sell, he is shown holding his scepter in hand, which ties directly into that episode and reinforces the idea of Adam relying on his own resolve rather than transformation, and I really like seeing that specific story moment reflected here.

200x Trap Jaw

Trap Jaw’s appearance in the MYP animated is much more intimidating and menacing. Keeping in line with his character portrayal from the 1980’s Filmation cartoon, he is still portrayed as another of Skeletor’s bumbling henchman. The MYP series did a great job of harkening back to the Filmation cartoon as one episode featured Trap Jaw trying to obtain the mineral Eternium. We finally get the back stroy on Trap Jaw from the minicomic which shows him to have once been a blue-skinned criminal named Kronis. Challening Skeletor’s right to command, Kronis built up an army and tried to overthrow Skeletor, but, in the battle, Kronis was badly injured. Seeing that Kronis could still be of use, Skeletor ordered Tri-Klops to repair him, turning him into the Trap Jaw we know today.

The 200x version of Trap Jaw is one of the more outstanding figures from the line! Covered with scars and stitches, this figure does a great job at showing his backstory as the damage he suffered undergoing repairs from Tri-Klops is shown all over his body. Appearing more robot than and less like an organic being, Trap Jaw’s left hand and the tops of his thighs appear to be mechanical and his shoulder armor takes on a more studded, battle damaged look. The vintage figure, however, has a very simple robotic arm and his updated arm is oversized and huge, covered with wires, armor plating, and all sorts of technical goodies. The headsculpt is frightening as it looks like it was actually lopped off in battle. His skin has a more zombie, post apocalyptic texture to it with a shade of deep lime green to complete the look. We could really see Mattel making this version of Trap Jaw fantastic in an Origins sculpt given the highly detailed and oversized robotic arm, which would set him apart from the original Origins figure.

200x Whiplash

Whiplash was featured in the MYP animated series as we get a glimpse into this background. Unlike the 80’s Filmation cartoon where he played a more significant role, Whiplash relegated mostly to background appearances that had little dialogue, no personality, and they really leaned on giving him a more thug like role. With respect to his backstory:

“we see that he is from a race of underground-dwelling reptile creatures called the Caligars, who inhabit Subternia and are caught in permanent dispute with their Subternian neighbours, the bat-like Speleans. The Caligars are shown to be a generally peaceful race, who regard Whiplash as a traitor since he joined Skeletor’s forces.”

Whiplash’s 200x figure appearance is much more wider and more substantial than his previous 80’s incarnation. He features oversized muscles muscular and studded loin armor, which goes along with the overall look of the line. His design really plays into the Caligars look and the inspiration seems to come from crocodiles and alligators as his scales and crackled skin appear all over his body. It also looks like he is clad in reptilian chest and shoulder armor. Whiplash’s head sculpt has a much more sinister and intense appearance and they got rid of that goofy looking tooth in the middle of his mouth that plagued the vintage figure.

Whiplash MOTU 200x Figure

The figure stands squared to the camera with a neutral stance, showing the red sleeveless vest layered over the white shirt and the diagonal black strap across the chest. I’m noticing how clean the portrait looks here, with the blond hair framing the face and the belt buckle centered at the waist.

The figure is shown from behind, highlighting the back of the vest and the clean seam lines across the shoulders. The belt wraps naturally around the waist, and the hair sculpt flows down the back without interfering with the neck movement.

The figure faces the opposite direction, giving a mirrored look at the side profile and how the vest flares slightly at the shoulder. I’m catching the way the glove and boot colors stay consistent from this angle, keeping the look cohesive.

The figure turns to the side, giving a clear look at the layered hair sculpt and how the vest sits over the shoulder. I like how this angle shows the gauntlet, glove, and boot alignment while the stance stays upright and balanced.

The figure is shown without the red vest and belt, revealing the white sleeveless shirt with front sculpted detailing and the full arm articulation unobstructed. I’m seeing the removed vest, belt, and yellow accessory laid out in front, which makes it easy to see how the parts break down and how clean the core body looks on its own.

The figure is posed with one arm extended upward, holding the 200x Power Sword as the body twists slightly at the waist and the legs brace apart. I like how the raised sword and turned head sell the moment, with the vest, belt, and boots staying clean and aligned while the pose captures the call to the Powers of Grayskull.

The image places Prince Adam next to the 200x He Man figure, immediately showing that Adam stands noticeably shorter by comparison. I’m seeing the difference clearly in the leg length and overall height, which makes the contrast between the two figures easy to spot when they’re displayed side by side.

The image shows a side by side comparison using the Prince Adam body with a He Man head swap, highlighting how the proportions and facial styling don’t quite line up between the two. I’m glad this shot was included because it clearly shows the differences in head size, expression, and overall balance when the swap is attempted.
