Mr. Perfect’s card front and back are…ABSOLUTELY PERFECT (I bet you saw that one coming!). The card features his classic pose and smug look and the back of the card has his signature saying, “Nobody beats Mr. Perfect! NOBODY!” His signature pin move was the Perfect Plex and it’s great to see the back of the card pay homage to him.

Curt Hennig, better known by his ring name “Mr. Perfect,” was a professional wrestler who was born on March 28, 1958, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA. He was the son of Larry “The Axe” Hennig, who was also a professional wrestler. Hennig began his wrestling career in 1980, working for the American Wrestling Association (AWA). He quickly gained popularity as a charismatic heel (villain) wrestler with incredible athletic abilities and exceptional technical skills. He won his first major championship in 1986, when he defeated Nick Bockwinkel for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship.

In 1988, Hennig joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where he adopted the persona of “Mr. Perfect.” He was known for his cocky attitude, his ability to perform seemingly impossible athletic feats, and his signature move, the Perfect Plex. Hennig quickly became one of the WWF’s top stars, winning the Intercontinental Championship twice and being named “Wrestler of the Year” by Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 1992.Hennig left the WWF in 1996 and joined the rival World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where he had a successful run as a member of the New World Order (nWo) faction. He won the United States Championship and the World Tag Team Championship during his time in WCW.

He was found dead in his hotel room in Tampa, Florida, where he was scheduled to wrestle in a match that evening. The cause of death was later determined to be acute cocaine intoxication. Bam Bam Bigelow, whose real name was Scott Charles Bigelow, was a professional wrestler born on September 1, 1961, in Asbury Park, New Jersey, USA. He was a large and athletic wrestler who was known for his high-flying maneuvers despite his size. Bigelow began his professional wrestling career in the late 1980s, working for various promotions including the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). He quickly gained popularity for his unique look, which included flame tattoos on his head and body, and for his in-ring skills.

Bigelow’s most significant accomplishments in his career came during his time in the WWF, where he debuted in 1987. He was immediately pushed as a dominant wrestler and was involved in high-profile feuds with wrestlers such as Bret Hart, The Undertaker, and Lawrence Taylor, a former NFL player. In 1993, Bigelow headlined WrestleMania IX, teaming with his manager, Luna Vachon, to face Tatanka and The Smoking Gunns. In addition to his success in the WWF, Bigelow also had a successful run in ECW, where he was a key member of the promotion’s early years. He won the ECW World Television Championship twice and was involved in some of the company’s most memorable matches.

Bigelow’s career began to slow down in the late 1990s due to injuries and personal issues. He made sporadic appearances in various promotions, including a brief return to the WWF in 2000, before retiring from wrestling in 2006. Tragically, Bigelow died on January 19, 2007, at the age of 45. The cause of death was determined to be an overdose of multiple drugs. Bigelow’s death was a shock to the wrestling community, and he is remembered as a talented and unique wrestler who helped shape the industry.

Up close, you can see that Mr. Perfect comes with his signature towel, neon green wrestling outfit, and his Intercontinental championship belt. Bam Bam is sporting his signature flame wrestling shirt and given his look also comprised of flamed pants, we are most likely to see those come with the figure to complete the look.

In a surprise reveal and preorder, WWE legends Rowdy Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan are coming to the WWE Superstars line! Could these two figures be part of Wave 5? We know that there were some changes to the Wave 4 and 5 assortment so with this reveal, has Mattel sorted this out? Who knows but at least we are getting two icons for the WWE Superstars line! Hogan and Piper had an amazing narrative, stellar wrestling matches, and were amazing on the mic doing out of this world promos! The Hot Rod looks amazing as he has a removable soft goods kilt and shirt. He also comes with a mic and by the looks of the images, he may come with extra boots but it looks like the image showing all of his accessories is photoshopped pretty heavily.
