Rio Blast MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Exclusive In-Hand Images

Ahead of the anticipated March 2025 delivery date for Rio Blast, Mr. Home Arcade comes through again with in-hand images of MOTU’s gunslinger, Rio Blast. Rio Blast went up for preorder on the Mattel Creations website back on January 21, 2025 and he is due in collector’s hands in about a month so it’s amazing to see some in-hand pics ahead of schedule! Rio Blast originally went up for sale on Mattel Creations and is still available if you didn’t get the chance to pick him up! Rio Blast was revealed in figure form at San Diego Comic Con 2024 and it’s great to see him finally going up for sale! This knocks one more off of the remaining MOTU Origins “Vintage” figure off the list, which is exciting for MOTU collectors! Let’s dive into the Rio Blast MOTU Origins exclusive pics!

Rio Blast is packed on the Mattel Creations card with the extra illustration of Rio Blast on the front. The incredible artwork has some hidden easter eggs and features Rio Blast gun slinging against Grizzlor and Modulok! You will notice the Horde Doom Tower from the She-Ra Princess of Power cartoon in the background. If you look carefully, Monstroid is peeking out from behind the rocks.

The details on Rio Blast are outstanding as you can see how that magnificent mustache sits on the stern look of his face sculpt! From the back, with his blaster pack off, you can see how the pack fits on the back as well as the conduits that plug into his lats!

From the side, we can see more of the details on the blaster pack, which include circuits, wires, and conduits. Rio Blast also got an extra splash of silver on his hands to tie everything together.

Mattel went all out with Rio Blast as he even has circtuit details in his chest cavity and the inner portion of his wrists.

Mr. Home Arcade also commissioned, from bombstaroutkast, a custom ride for Rio Blast that mirrors his paint app and armaments! While Fisto was always pictured on Stridor, it makes the most sense for Rio Blast to have a proper stead!

January 17, 2025 Update: Rio Blast Official Images

Mattel has added the official product page for Rio Blast, which has so many cool official images, which you can view below.

Making his first-ever appearance in the Origins line, Rio Blast is armed and ready to fire up your display. 

A member of the Heroic Warriors, this cyborg cowboy destroys his opponents with a pack of blasters on his back and an arsenal of laser guns concealed in his chest, legs, and arms.

Rio Blast made his first appearance as He-Man’s quick-draw deputy in the Mattel mini comic, “The Fastest Draw in the Universe.”
