Special thanks to Leo Fung for sharing exclusive in hand, out of box images of the upcoming Scar Trooper Mic Star Wars Black Series figure. Revealed back in November 2022 at London Comic Con, SCAR Trooper Mis not due to hit the United States until April 2023, Leo picked up this figure, along with RC-1262 SCORCH and sent us these images for your viewing pleasure!
Scar Trooper Mic
“Mic” was the nickname of a Special Commando Advanced Recon Trooper in Task Force 99, a squad within the Galactic Empire’s Stormtrooper Corps. Mic served as the squad’s slicer, capable of breaking into and decrypting enemy computer systems. Mic participated in Task Force 99’s mission to the Ghost Moon in order to kill a group of Rebels hiding there. Mic served in Task Force 99 for years, growing close with fellow Stormtrooper specialists. After the death of the Task Force’s previous sergeant, the team was reassigned under the command of Sergeant Kreel.
Task Force 99, also known as SCAR Squadron, was an elite stormtrooper squad in the 501st Legion of Galactic Empire led by Sergeant Kreel. One of their missions was to investigate Sunspot Prison, an installation that was recently abandoned by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Box and Packout
SCAR Trooper Mic comes in the book style Star Wars Black Series box with some very cool art and illustrations, making this one of the more interesting boxes to display. The inside of the box flap reads: “SCAR Trooper Mic is part of a Special Commando Advanced Recon team called Scar Squadron. Also known as Task Force 99, this tight-knit group is accustomed to operating on its own in the most hostile environments.”
The front of the box features Task Force 99 and the left side of the box also features more art and illustrations and the back of the box features more art plus the figure and accessories.
Getting a look at the figure himself against the Star Wars branded tissue paper, this figure comes with a blaster and a backpack that has a very cool feature. If you look, the backpack opens up on the sides to reveal it’s inner workings, giving you some display options.
Open or closed, the jet pack is a very unique piece and is cast in the same bright white plastic as SCAR Trooper Mic with some gun metal black paint app o the with a light blue accent, tying the jet pack in with the Trooper’s bucket and comms guantlet.
Figure Details
Taking a closer look at the figure in the awesome backdrop, you can see the antenna piece also has some blue deco to it with a torch (or light) on the right side of the helmet. The bucket also has the markings from the comic on the front! On the back of the figure, you can see how the jet pack looks on the figure and it looks amazing! It’s compact without being overly large and overpowering the figure.
The blue on the visor ties all of the colors together and makes the trooper stand out amongst the rest. He also has some black markings on the armor and his comms gauntlet is a simple design with a blue screen that goes with the rest of the figure.
