January 31, 2023 UPDATE: Wave 3 Ship Date Pushed

According to the preorder status page on the Super7 website, the ship date for their GI Joe Ultimates Wave 3 has moved from “late-May” to “late-June.” Waves 1 and 2 ship dates are not effected and remain unchanged.

G.I. Joe

• Wave 1 (Duke, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Cobra B.A.T.) – Production completed and has left the factory. Scheduled to ship to customers late-February 2023.
• Wave 2 (Baroness, Destro, Flint, Lady Jaye) – In production and scheduled to leave the factory in early March and ship to customers in late-April 2023.
• Wave 3 (Doc, Scarlett, Storm Shadow, Cobra Soldier) – In tooling review with factory. Scheduled to leave the factory in middle of May and ship to customers in late-June 2023.

Yesterday, Super7 sent out updates on all their Ultimates lines, and included in this were updates to our favorite Real American Heros, the GI Jees! We got some exciting news and confirmation on when our favorite upcoming figures are going to be released! It looks like 2023 is going to be filled with a ton of new Ultimates! So let’s dig into the release list and also recap these amazing figures below!

Wave 1:

The first Wave of Gi Joe Ultimates is set to ship soon! Wave 1 which includes Duke, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Cobra B.A.T. are in production and leaving the factory soon. They are expected to be shipping to collectors in late-February, 2023!

The figures were all on display at this years San Diego Comic Con Pop up shop at the Super Store in downtown San Diego, and they look absolutely spectacular!

According to the B.A.T’s production description: They may lack the over-the-top dramatic flourishes exuded by many of Cobra’s notable characters, but Cobra Battle Android Troopers (B.A.T.) more than make up for that in their ability to unleash pure battlefield carnage and mayhem! The made-to-order 7-inch scale fully-articulated G.I. Joe ULTIMATES! figure of the Cobra B.A.T. comes with interchangeable heads and hands, and a variety of accessories, including battle damaged pieces, weapon attachments, multiple guns and more! Dr. Mindbender’s creation may give the G.I. Joes nightmares, but the Cobra B.A.T. ULTIMATES! figure will be a dream to have in your collection!

Super7 had GI Joe Ultimates Wave 2 figures on display at Designer Con 2022 so let’s take a first look at these produced figures! so let’s take a first look at these produced figures! Many collectors were waiting for more officially produced images so hopefully these images might put some folks in the mood to collect the line. If you are one of those collectors, these figures are still available for preroder at Entertainment Earth with an arrival date of March 2023. Like Super7 had the GI Joe Ultimates Wave 1 (which you can see in the background) on display at San Diego 2022, they have put out fully produced and painted figures with all of their accessories so we can feast our eyes on them! Flint

Flint’s sculpt cam out fantastic and face sculpt looks so much in the produced version than in the digital renders. The camo green and browns really play well off of each other in his Sundow inspired paint app!

Lady Jaye

Lady Jay also came out great with a fabulous looking hair sculpt as she has her javelin weapon in hand! You can see the hole in her chest where you can place her knife sheeth.

Baroness

The Baroness, in our opinion, is the best looking of the bunch! Her Sunbow inspired deco really shines through. You can also see a green tint her glasses in this image and get a sense of how they dusted her hair in alternate head sculpts. You can also see her gas mask detail and that came out great too!

Baroness is the femme fatale Cobra Intelligence Officer who can either bring Cobra Commander and Destro together to take over the world or tear them apart and dash their plans for global domination! Destro

Destro’s silver finish came out amazing! It is a matte paint app and you can see all of his face detail in his head sculpt, complete with black eyebrows! His forearm bracers match the paint app on his face really well. What is hard to tell in this photo is if Destro’s irises will be painted the lime green like in the official images but maybe we just can see them at this angle.

His beryllium steel mask and deep-V-to-the-waist jumpsuit do nothing to hide Destro’s fiendishly opportunistic nature or cold-blooded desire for power! This 7-inch scale fully articulated G.I. Super7’s Sunbow inspired 7″ Ultimate figure line looks like it’s getting another Wave! YO JOE and get ready for Wave 3! Super7 is turning all your favorite characters from the 1980’s G.I. Storm Shadow comes packed with an alternate arm that sports the Arashikage symbol on his right wrist, unwrapped and partially exposed, an obvious comic inspired look! As you can see below in GI Joe comic issue #21, Silent Interlude, Storm Shadow after battling Snake Eyes, ends up with right wrist strap falling off, exposing his Arashikage tatoo.
