Tauraton MOTU Origins Figure Coming To Mattel Creations + In-Hand Images
From tease to full reveal in a matter of hours, that’s the kind of speed that makes collecting in real time so much fun, and today’s Tauraton reveal for Masters of the Universe Origins is a perfect example of how quickly the community can crack things wide open. Mattel dropped a cryptic teaser on their channels with the line “A new character is charging into the Masters of the Universe Origins collection” along with a sneak peek image, and before most of us even had a chance to speculate, someone on TikTok had already surfaced in-hand images of the actual figure complete with box art, giving us the full picture of this brand new character. Tauraton looks to be a bull-themed warrior charging his way into the Origins lineup, and the name alone tells you exactly what kind of energy this guy brings to the battlefield. This is yet another new character being introduced through the Origins line, which has been quietly building out the MOTU roster beyond the classic vintage catalog, and it’s exciting to see Mattel leaning into that creative space, especially after we saw those Powers of Grayskull character teases not long ago that hinted at an expanding universe of new faces. What is also amazing is that this tease brings to life MOTU illustrator Axel Gimenez‘s art! For those looking to grab Tauraton, the window is tight and exclusive: Club Grayskull members will have access starting July 8, 2026, at 9:00am PT through July 9, 2026, at 8:59am PT on MattelCreations.com, while supplies last, so if you’re not already a member, now might be the time to sort that out. I love how fast this whole thing moved from mystery to reveal, and it just goes to show that between Mattel’s marketing and the collector community’s detective work, nothing stays hidden for long anymore. Can’t wait to see how Tauraton fits into the broader MOTU Origins shelf and whether this signals even more new characters on the horizon.

The Club Grayskull forums teased these cropped details give a solid first look at Tauraton’s sculpt work before the full reveal dropped. They said: A new character is charging into the Masters of the Universe Origins collection. Don’t get trampled by this sneak peek! From July 8, 2026, at 9:00am PT through July 9, 2026, at 8:59am PT, only Club Grayskull members can buy this item at MattelCreations.com, while supplies last.

A close-up split showing two sculpt details on Tauraton: the red and gold chest armor with its pronged collar and flanking shoulder spikes, and the heavily textured grey hide on the back, complete with ridged plating and small protruding spikes. The sculpt work on that mace has real depth to it, with layered folds and rough, organic texture throughout.

The box artwork dominates with a massive creature skull rendered in metallic blues and greens, its jaws wide open with a burst of energy pouring out between rows of jagged fangs. The purple gradient background and classic painted style give this packaging a strong Powers of Grayskull era feel.

The side panel artwork features Tauraton in a fully illustrated style, rendered in deep reds and golds against a swirling purple and magenta background. The character art carries a lot of energy, with detailed armor plating on the chest, knees, and belt all picked out in gold.

The back of the box features a lush green landscape with a full painted scene of Tauraton towering at center, flanked by two barbarian warriors ready for a fight. A winged creature perches in the upper corner, adding to the prehistoric fantasy vibe that runs through the whole composition.

The inner flap opens to a painted panel of Tauraton in a labyrinth setting, with a block of character bio text below the illustration. Inside the tray, the figure sits alongside a curved hook weapon, with the pink-to-purple gradient carrying through the interior packaging design.

Tauraton’s four-armed build is striking in person, with red skin covering all six limbs and a gold belt piece framing a sculpted fur loincloth. Grey crossed straps run over the chest plate, and a curved hook weapon with a pronged head sits tucked behind the horned head sculpt.

The gold bull head sculpt has a wide, flat snout with a ridge running up between the eyes, and the grey horns curve upward with tapered, sharp points. Spiked gold bracers wrap around each of the four wrists, matching the knee guards just above the grey hooved feet.

The staff accessory has a sculpted bull head at its top, with curved horns and a crossguard-like element below it. A small chain detail hangs at the waist, catching between the belt and loincloth where the upper and lower body meet.

The red skin has a matte finish throughout, contrasting nicely with the metallic gold on the shoulder spikes, shin guards, and head. That head sculpt is really solid, and the scale of the figure against a hand gives a good sense of how chunky this one is.

Full-body from the front, Tauraton’s proportions read wide and heavy, with the four arms spreading out from a broad torso and thick legs tapering down to those clawed hooves. The ornate belt buckle carries a sculpted emblem at center with a looping chain detail beneath it.

Featured very prominently on the back of He-Ro’s package art is a Minotaur character, Minox. We tried to do some research to see where this figure came from, and with the help of @durendalstrike on Instagram. We tried to ask Axel Gimenez and he tried to give me a hint but I don’t know how a cow emoji and lightening bolt help, but I thought it was pretty funny! How cool would this figure be? He could be based on a chonky buck and Ram Man like armor.

Minox first appeared in the story Il Labirinto di Minox (The Maze of Minox) in a 1987 issue of the Italian Magic Boy comics magazine, where he fought He-Man inside his labyrinth. The robotic minotaur introduced himself as a “creation of Skeletor” and had the ability to shoot lightning bolts from his metal horns. He-Man ultimately defeated Minox by dousing him with water, which short-circuited the creature’s electronic components. In the Masters of the Universe Classics line, Minox was mentioned in Karg’s bio. There, he was described as a Mintoran cyborg who would drag unfortunate victims into Snake Mountain’s Doom Room for interrogation by Karg.
