Oh my stars and garters! Hasbro is giving us another X-Men ’97 Marvel Legends figure and this time it’s the one and only Hank McCoy, Marvel’s Beast! We are so excited about this one. Beast has always been one of my favorite X-Men, and seeing him rendered in that gorgeous animated style from X-Men ’97 just makes my collector heart sing. This 6-inch scale figure comes loaded with 5 accessories including an alternate head, 2 alternate hands, goggles, and a backpack, all with that lore-accurate animated series detailing we love. Currently sold out at both Hasbro Pulse and EE, you can still preorder Beast now over at BigBadToyStore for $39.99 with a ship date of November 2026, and I always love recommending them as a great option for locking in your preorders. I love how Hasbro keeps expanding this X-Men ’97 lineup because every new addition gets us closer to filling out that animated roster on our shelves. The goggles and backpack are really cool inclusions too, giving Hank that scientific adventurer look that fits his character so well. How amazing is that?! So let’s take a look at the X-Men ’97 Marvel Legends Marvel’s Beast!

Where to Buy

You can preorder the figures at the following retailers below

The packaging uses a bold red and orange gradient design with diagonal speed lines framing the window, giving the whole presentation an animated series energy. Beast is displayed alongside his full accessory spread, which includes an alternate snarling head, two alternate hands, a pair of goggles, and a tan backpack with a silver top, all neatly arranged in the gold plastic tray.

The side panel artwork is a real treat, capturing Beast in a classic animated series pose with deep blue tones and expressive linework that feels pulled straight from a cel. You can see how the red and orange gradient wraps around the box, tying the illustrated artwork on the side into the front window design seamlessly.

The back of the box features a large photo of Beast in full color against a bright yellow backdrop with a large circular X-Men emblem, and he’s shown with the tan backpack accessory secured to his shoulders. I like how the X-Men insignia in the upper left corner pops against the blue halftone pattern, framing the whole rear panel with that classic team identity.

Beast is covered head to toe in a rich, consistent blue that carries across his fur-textured skin and the darker blue of his trunks, with only the bright yellow belt and red X-Men buckle breaking up the monochrome. His face sculpt is fantastic, with those signature fangs poking over his lower lip, deep-set pale blue eyes, and that wild swept-back hair adding a ton of personality to the headsculpt.

Here’s a closer look at those oversized hands, and the sculpted claws on each finger really sell the feral side of Hank McCoy. The silver wrist communicator on his right forearm is a nice little lore-accurate touch, with a small engraved detail on its face that adds some welcome visual contrast against all that blue.

You can see how Beast’s feet are sculpted with individually separated toes and thick, curved claws, mirroring the feral detail of his hands and reinforcing that ape-like anatomy throughout the figure. The goggles sit naturally on his forehead, with a translucent silver lens piece that contrasts nicely against the blue fur texture of his brow ridge.

Here’s a closer look at the tan backpack from the rear, and I’m really digging how the silver metallic panels and that chunky dial on top give it a real piece-of-equipment feel rather than just a featureless block. The white straps loop over Beast’s shoulders cleanly, and that yellow belt peeking out beneath helps anchor the accessory to his silhouette without it looking tacked on.

The alternate snarling head is full of aggression, with his mouth wide open to show off a complete set of sharp teeth and that signature pink tongue curling upward. Paired with the splayed alternate hands, each finger spread wide with those individually sculpted claws, this combination completely transforms Beast from composed intellectual to something far more primal.

I like how the overall proportions really nail Beast’s animated look, with that barrel-shaped torso tapering into those massive, gorilla-like limbs that feel appropriately exaggerated for the ’97 style. The articulation lets him coil into a satisfyingly acrobatic crouch, and you can see how the joints tuck away into the sculpt without breaking up the silhouette too much.

Sporting the tan backpack slung over his shoulder, this shot really captures how well all of Beast’s accessories integrate with the sculpt as a cohesive package. The red X-Men buckle on his yellow belt and the silver wrist communicator add just enough color variety to keep the figure visually interesting without competing with that dominant blue.
