According to our friends at @canaldosrosmineiros, the Masterverse leaked figures keep flowing and new figures will be added to the line, including Zodac, Two-Bad, and Galactic Protector He-Man from the New Adventures line!

***We don’t have official pics yet so we are using the Masters of the Universe Classics figures as stand ins in the meantime***

Canal Dos Rosmineiros’ YouTube Channel broke the news of Zodac, Two-Bad, and Galactic Protector He-Man joining the Masterverse line sometime in the future and that is very great news on several fronts! First, Zodac and Two-Bad have not appeared in the Masters of the Universe Revelation Netflix series and with the reveal of the 40th Anniversary He-Man figure, we could see more classic figures in the Masterverse vintage style box coming to the line! Also, with a New Adventures He-Man coming to Masterverse, this blows the doors wide open for this sub line to get built out, similarly to how they created figures in the MOTU Classics line!

Masterverse Galactic Protector He-Man

As a kid, I was out of collecting He-Man toys by the time the New Adventures of He-Man came on the scene, but I really loved the design of the Galactic Protector in vintage form and in Classics! The Battleramblog has a fantastic article entitled HE-MAN: MOST POWERFUL MAN IN THE UNIVERSE! (1989) and we encourage you to read it!

The Masters of the Universe Classics line took this figure to an 11 and gave it a really nice deluxe treatment even though it was a standard release of the figure. He-Man has a very cool look with the blue tights and his space armor. He also came with a new hip piece with his unique belt.

Since this figure came with so many different accessories, you can create many combinations to achieve an appearance that you wanted to display proudly on your shelf. While the look is more familiar of his ponytail head sculpt and his chest harness, I actually prefer the helmet and the armor look better, since it resembles his vintage figure.

Masterverse Zodac

Zodac has always been an interesting character in the line, and according the the Wiki Grayskull:

Zodac is an enigmatic cosmic enforcer in the Masters of the Universe mythos. In general, the character is portrayed as being neutral in the battle between good and evil. However, the difficulty in presenting such nuance in a children’s toy line has led to inconsistencies in his character across various forms of continuity.

The Four Horsemen did a fantastic job spicing up Zodac’s armor by adding bullets along the lower straps. The backpack looks very futuristic and what you might see in the cosmos of the Universe. Although Zodac lacks unique styling from what we expect a Classics figure to come with, it does remain faithful to the original design. I know it’s not really any more or less faithful to the original design, so it will be interesting to see where the Masterverse takes this figure! Will it have more style and pizzaz or remain true to the original design? Only time will tell!

Zodac vs. Zodak?

We came across an interesting debate in the he-man.org forums regarding not only the two different spellings of the name but also if they are separate, distinct characters. This comes up on several websites as well and best distinction I could come across was from poeghostal.com as they wrote:

Though he appeared to be an innocent repaint of Zodac (with He-Ro’s boots), Zodak had one of the most lore-intensive bios in the line to that point. Some quick background info: In the Millennium cartoon, Zodak was not intended to be a separate character from the vintage Zodac–he was the updated Zodac. But thanks to the fortunate difference in spelling, Mattel was able to concoct the notion that Zodac and Zodak were two different characters and incorporate the fan favorite Zodak into MOTUC.

Although we suspect the figure released for Masterverse to be Zodac (spelled with a ‘c’), we don’t know at this point so let’s check out the MOTU Classics version in the meantime!

Masterverse Two-Bad

The most exciting of the leaks is Two-Bad! We’ve only seen single headed figures on the Masterverse buck and it will be amazing to see how they style Two-Bad from a tooling and sculpt perspective. With respect to the Classics version, as this is the style most likely to be modeled for the Masterverse line, The Four Horsemen, as usual, did a fantastic job with the sculpting. In the Classics figure, Baddrah’s side is a newly sculpted piece showing off the detailed scaled arms and legs with ridges running down the sides. The glove and boot and boot designs are awesome and give the appearance they are made of leather and contain plenty of studs and straps to make them dangerous in battle. Tuvar is a bit simpler and, like Baddrah, he has a brand new head sculpt.  His boot and glove are also new pieces that have an armor plated look with lots of rivets to hold them together.  But when it comes to the rest of his arms and legs, he just uses a normal human buck.

As this was not entirely a vintage clone, it actually more resembles the MOTU 200x version, which unique to it, Baddrah has different posture and is slouched to the side.  While the Classics figure isn’t as drastically lopsided, there is a slight slump on that left side.

Tuvar and Baddrah share new chest and abs pieces, both of which are wider than the standard Classics buck and some figures have a nice sculpted overlap of the two body types where you can see the scales melting into the smooth skin but mine does not seem to have this effect in the front but it does show more in the back. The waist could have been spiced up a little more than the standard piece but it would have been great to see a 200x version but maybe this come in Masterverse!
