Hot off the press, and straight from the WrestleMania 42 floor, we’re getting our first look at what’s coming next for the Mattel WWE Superstars line and there are some real surprises in the mix. Massive thanks to @majorwfpod for coming through with the pics from the event, because these reveals are exactly what collectors have been waiting to see. Now, Series 18 showing up was expected, and it’s looking great with Dusty Rhodes, Jesse “The Body” Ventura, The Undertaker, and missing is Mankind with Socko, which is a lineup that hits the sweet spot for fans of classic wrestling. We also got confirmation on John Cena and Koko B. Ware, which were the two figures we spotted through Walmart listings not long ago, so it’s nice to finally see them in person and know those early discoveries were right on the money. But the real story here is the wild cards, because alongside Cena and Koko B. Ware we’re now getting King Kong Bundy and Hillbilly Jim, two names that absolutely nobody had on their radar going into this weekend. King Kong Bundy in particular is a deep cut that I’m fired up about, because he’s one of those larger-than-life characters from the golden era who has been long overdue for this kind of treatment, and seeing him show up with no prior intel or leaked listings makes this reveal feel like a genuine surprise in an age where very little stays secret for long. Hillbilly Jim is another welcome addition that rounds out this wave with a real old-school flavor. We will actually be attending WrestleMania ourselves and plan to grab more pics once we’re on the ground, so stay tuned because there’s likely more to come from the show floor.
WWE Superstars Reveals
A packed display showcasing the WWE Superstars Wrestlemania 42 Reveals across what looks like Waves 17 through 19. The front row features Demolition Ax and Smash in their signature black spiked gear alongside Hacksaw Jim Duggan in his blue trunks and American flag bandana, and that head sculpt on Duggan is really solid. The middle row gives us a great look at Dusty Rhodes in his yellow polka dot attire, Jesse The Body Ventura in a blue tie-dye top with pink trunks, Hillbilly Jim in denim overalls, and King Kong Bundy in his black tee. Up top, The Undertaker stands in his classic long black coat and hat, while the newly revealed John Cena sports his blue jersey and Koko B. Ware comes with his parrot Frankie perched on his arm. Huge thanks to @majorwfpod on Instagram for the pics, and we’ll be attending Wrestlemania to grab even more shots when we arrive.
