Ram Man and Fisto MOTU Chronicles In-Hand Review

I have been looking forward to this one since we first saw Ram Man at German Toy Fair 2026, and now having both him and Fisto in hand as the first MOTU Chronicles 2-Pack, this release carries some real weight. At the time, we did not know Ram Man would be paired with Fisto, so that was a cool surprise when the 2-Pack was officially revealed. Starting with Ram Man, the actor likeness of Jon Xue Zhang is sharp, and the included “coil” leg extensions give him that heavy-hitting silhouette that feels right for the character in live action form. The hatchet and extra set of hands round him out nicely, giving you some solid display options. Fisto is equally impressive, with the Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson likeness looking great in person. His oversized metallic fist is the centerpiece here, and the translucent blue fist effect adds a layer of visual punch that photographs incredibly well. It is also worth noting how Mattel handled the packaging for this one. Being the first 2-Pack in the Chronicles line, it was cool to see how they adapted the box design to accommodate two figures while keeping the presentation consistent with the single releases. Both figures together make this one of my favorites in the line so far, and I am really happy with how this set came together. If you are looking to add this 2-Pack to your collection, you can grab them now over at Amazon.

Packaging

Here’s a clean look at the front of the box where you can really take in both figures head to toe, from Ram Man’s heavy layered armor plating and red skirt down to his knee guards, and Fisto’s asymmetrical build with that oversized gauntlet contrasting against his bare arm. The tray layout gives each figure plenty of room to breathe, and you get a better sense of scale between the two, with Ram Man’s stockier, bulkier frame standing noticeably wider than Fisto’s leaner silhouette.

The side angle gives you a nice view of how the window wraps around the packaging, letting light spill in the same way the single-boxed releases do, so you can appreciate the depth of Ram Man’s layered shoulder armor and Fisto’s fist without any glare fighting you. The card art portrait on the side panel is a gorgeous touch, with a warm, painterly rendering of both characters that feels more like a fantasy book illustration than typical toy packaging, which is how the MOTU Chronciles packaging is designed.

The box art features a dramatic composition with Ram Man and Fisto facing off against Skeletor, whose skeletal visage lurks menacingly on the right side of the panel alongside a cosmic eclipse backdrop. You can see both figures through the window, and the painted portraits below really sell the intensity of this pairing.

The back of the box showcases some fantastic painted artwork of both characters standing on a glowing volcanic rock ledge, with Ram Man in his red-visored helmet and Fisto raising that massive fist overhead. Along the bottom right you get the cross-sell imagery for the rest of the first Chronicles wave, featuring He-Man, Man-At-Arms, and Tri-Klops rendered in that same gritty, grounded art style.

Here’s your look at the full loadout once you pull the tray out, and it’s a solid spread: a double-headed axe, translucent fist effect piece, silver mechanical fist, swap hands, and a pair of coiled spring accessories nestled between them.

Without the spring extensions, you can really see the natural height difference between these two, with Ram Man standing noticeably shorter and stockier. I like how that compact proportioning makes his massive shoulder armor and wide chest plate feel even more exaggerated against Fisto’s taller, more athletic build.

I love how you can see Ram Man’s spring-loaded leg extensions attached here, adding noticeable height so he and Fisto are nearly eye to eye when posed together. The crosshatch texture sculpted into those red skirt panels really pops up close, and Fisto’s segmented leg wraps with those olive and yellow bands give his lower half a completely different visual identity.

Here’s the plain brown shipper box the set arrives in, keeping that collector-grade packaging safe during transit. It’s a simple SIOC mailer with the Chronicles sub-line stamped up top, and you’ll want to open it carefully since the inner box slides right out.

Fisto

Fisto’s overall design balances heavy armor up top with more rugged, worn battlefield gear below, and the front-to-back consistency is impressive with the chest plate, layered belt, and knee guards all wrapping around naturally. The navy blue tunic underneath ties everything together, with its crosshatch fabric texture visible between the armor plates on both sides.

The armor plating on Fisto’s chest and back genuinely looks like hammered sheets of metal, with fine scratches, surface texture, and subtle dents sculpted into every panel. The brown leather shoulder straps with their squared-off buckle details provide a nice functional touch, as if they’re the only things holding those heavy plates in place.

From the side, you get a clear look at that sculpted metal plate strapped to his left thigh, complete with riveted edges and a raised shield-like emblem at its center. The alternate open hand on the left arm adds a welcome change of silhouette, and those chunky knee armor pieces have a forged look with their layered, overlapping segments.

Fisto comes with a solid accessory spread, including a translucent blue fist effect, a swappable metal fist, and a standard open hand, giving you plenty of display options. I like how the translucent sculpt on the effect piece contrasts with the heavier, armored look of the metal fist swap.

The segmented plating on that oversized fist has incredible depth to the sculpt, with individual armor panels, rivets, and seam lines carved into every section from the knuckles down through the gauntlet. You can see how the weathered silver finish on the fist ties into the chest armor, with those brown leather straps breaking up the metallic surface nicely. I do wish, however, that the fist was much larger.

I love how well that translucent fist effect sells the uppercut pose, with the sculpted energy trailing behind the swing like a comet tail. The leather boot cuffs and knee guards add some nice visual weight to the lower half, keeping the figure grounded.

Here’s a great shot of the alternate fist up close, and you can really appreciate how the mechanical sculpt runs seamlessly from the wrist cuff all the way through each finger joint. Fisto’s face sculpt deserves attention too, with that thick dark beard and furrowed brow carrying a lot of intensity beneath the swept-back hair.

The layered sculpt on the translucent fist effect really shines up close, with individual finger shapes and jagged energy tendrils carved into the piece rather than just a smooth blob. You can see how it fits snugly over the gauntlet cuff, creating a clean transition between the armored wrist and the burst of sculpted energy.

Ram Man

Ram Man has a great overall look that mixes weathered, patina’d metal on the massive shoulder armor and helmet with warm bronze tones on the chain links and accent plating, giving the whole upper body a worn, battle-tested feel. Below that heavy armor, the deep crimson tunic and dark segmented leg guards ground him as a bruiser-class warrior with a gladiator-meets-medieval aesthetic.

From the side, you get a great look at how the massive helmet curves down over the back of the head and connects to those oversized pauldrons, creating an almost seamless shell of armor protecting his neck and shoulders. The exposed arms contrast nicely against all that heavy plating, and you can see how the wrist gauntlets have a layered cuff design with distinct segments that wrap cleanly around the forearm.

Here’s the full accessory spread for Ram Man, and it’s a solid loadout: the coil leg extensions, the hatchet, and a pair of swappable fist hands. The fists have a gloved wrist cuff sculpted into them, so the swap between hand types stays visually consistent with the rest of his armored look.

Ram Man MOTU Chonicles Amazon Exclusive Review 4

Here you can see how Ram Man comes apart to accept the coil extensions, with the boots detaching cleanly at the knee so the coil pieces port directly into the boot tops. It’s a clever swap system, and having both sets of boots displayed alongside him really shows how straightforward the conversion is.

The front and rear comparison gives you a full picture of how Ram Man looks with the coil extensions installed, and I like how the back of the armor reveals a large recessed panel between the shoulder blades that you don’t really notice from the front. From behind, the skirt panels have a simpler, flatter cross-hatch pattern compared to the segmented, overlapping flaps up front, which is a nice subtle distinction between the two sides.

Ram Man MOTU Chonicles Amazon Exclusive Review 9

I love how the coil leg extensions on Ram Man’s legs look like they compress and stretch with the pose, selling the idea of a spring-loaded launch. The layered sculpt of wrapped bindings and segmented coils around his shins gives those extensions a real mechanical feel that pairs perfectly with the heavy armor up top.

Ram Man MOTU Chonicles Amazon Exclusive Review 1

The coil leg extensions look so cool up close, with that translucent yellow energy visible between the tightly wound green wraps creating a layered, almost pressurized look. You can also appreciate the textured cross-hatching on the red armored skirt panels and those tiny raised studs scattered across each flap, adding a lot of visual density to Ram Man’s midsection.

Ram Man MOTU Chonicles Amazon Exclusive Review 5

The double-headed hatchet is a great fit for Ram Man, and the chunky proportions of the blade head match the brawler aesthetic of his whole design. I like how the heavy shoulder armor and chain detailing across the pauldrons frame his upper body, making him look like a walking siege weapon even before you factor in the axe.

Ram Man MOTU Chonicles Amazon Exclusive Review 2

The hatchet has a nice wood look to it running down the shaft, with small rivets where the handle meets the dual blade heads. You can also see the small crescent-shaped pommel charm dangling from the base of the grip, which is a cool little detail that adds some personality to an otherwise brutal weapon.
