Mekaneck Coming to MOTU Chronicles
Word just came in that Mekaneck is headed to the Masters of the Universe Chronicles line, and I am genuinely fired up about this one because he’s a character whose design in the new movie continuity has really struck a chord with me from the moment we first saw him in the trailer footage. We’ve received this intel from a trusted anonymous source, and while we don’t have official images or a release date to share just yet, the fact that he’s in the pipeline for Chronicles is exciting news on its own given how well that line has been translating the movie aesthetics into figure form. If you caught our review of the Core Mekaneck figure, you already know there’s a lot to like about how Mattel has been handling this character in the new movie style, and the Core release gave us a solid foundation to imagine what a more detailed, scaled-up Chronicles version could look like with all the bells and whistles that tier tends to offer. His movie design carries this great blend of classic Mekaneck DNA with a fresh mechanical edge th3t feels grounded and inventive at the same time, and the extending neck gimmick has always been one of those wonderfully weird MOTU concepts that somehow just works when the design team leans into it with confidence. For now we’re working with movie stills and what we know from the Core figure to piece together how this might all come together in the Chronicles treatment, so consider this the opening chapter of a story we’ll be following closely as more puzzle pieces fall into place. Mekaneck MOTU 2026 Movie Stills
The telescoping neck is shown mid-extension, rising vertically with each segmented coil stacking upward beneath his helmeted head. Those green-lensed goggles and the circular ear pieces on his helmet have a great mechanical feel up close.

Mekaneck has such a cool design in the movie, and those goggles with the teal glow are a real highlight. His armor has a layered, skeletal chest piece with segmented plating across the torso and shoulders, all in deep red and dark metallic tones.

His neck is fully extended here, stretching out in a long, segmented coil that arcs well above his shoulders. That elongated neck is one of the most faithful details to the character’s classic ability, and seeing it in motion with that much length is honestly pretty impressive.

The segmented neck is whipping through the air in a wide, sweeping arc, with the coils catching the glow of surrounding fire and energy blasts. Surrounded by fallen opponents, the full range of that neck’s reach is on display here in a way that really sells the character’s signature ability.

The neck extends to an incredible length here, reaching across a wide span with its segmented coils stretched taut in a horizontal line. That reach is massive, easily covering several body lengths, and it really drives home just how far this version of Mekaneck can push that signature ability.
