Breaking out of nowhere, the Dark Lord of Destruction himself has surfaced in MOTU Origins movie form, and once again it’s not Mattel pulling back the curtain but the collector community doing what it does best. A video posted by Jonephes1 on Reddit, from a movie premier press tour captured this figure and has given us our first look at the Skeletor MOTU Origins Movie figure, and I’ve got to say, seeing him finally join this growing lineup feels like a moment we’ve all been waiting for. This reveal follows a pattern we’ve become very familiar with at this point, where figures from the MOTU Origins movie line seem to just appear out of thin air through community finds rather than official announcements, much like when Skel-Knight was discovered not long ago, or when the Ram Man and Moss Man movie 2-pack showed up and caught everyone by surprise. It’s become part of the fun at this point, honestly, never quite knowing when the next piece of the puzzle is going to drop. According to Planet Eternia, Skeletor will likely be released alongside a Teela figure, which was spotted on the MOTU Origins Movie Fright Fighter packaging, and that pairing alone makes a lot of sense when you think about how Mattel has been rolling these out. Seeing Skeletor in this style is exactly the kind of reveal that keeps the energy around this movie line alive, and the fact that it keeps happening through grassroots community discoveries rather than polished marketing rollouts just adds to the excitement. Can’t wait to see what official images eventually look like and whether Mattel will confirm the Teela pairing alongside him.
