McFarlane’s DC Retro Wave 17 Super Friends preorders are open, bringing together The Joker, The Atom, and Apache Chief at Entertainment Earth for $22.99 each, with all three expected to ship in September 2026. These are 6-inch figures with 12 points of articulation, but the character selection is what makes this wave fun. Joker comes with a prop weapon, Atom gets a Justice League Radio, and Apache Chief gives the lineup another hero created specifically for the animated series. I’m especially glad to see Apache Chief here since his “Inukchuk!” transformation is so closely associated with Super Friends, while Atom adds another classic Justice League member beyond the usual headliners. The assortment follows the figures shown in the earlier McFarlane DC Retro Super Friends reveal, but there’s also a separate wrinkle at GameStop: the McFarlane Toys DC Super Friends Warpland Superman (or Chase) 6-inch Retro figure is listed for $22.99 with a September 25, 2026 release date.
Where to Buy
You can preorder the figures at the following retailers below

DC Retro Wave 17 Super Friends Apache Chief 6-Inch Scale Action Figure
Apache Chief keeps the clean Super Friends design, pairing a simple brown vest, loincloth, and tall boots with bright red bands at the head, neck, waist, and wrists. The long black hair and squared-off facial sculpt complete the appropriately retro animated look.

The collectible art card pairs Apache Chief’s animated portrait with a bright yellow Super Friends design and even depicts him using the Justice League Radio. Including that tiny radio with the figure gives the minimal accessory selection a direct connection to the character art.

Around back, the costume’s layered construction is clearer, with the cropped vest ending above the waist wrap and the loincloth continuing as a long center panel. The tied headband tails and jagged ends of the hair add some welcome definition to an otherwise very simple rear sculpt.

The fine crosshatched texture across the vest and loincloth gives Apache Chief’s otherwise base outift some welcome contrast against the smooth boots and waist wrap.

The bright card design leans into the Super Friends cartoon aesthetic with the full team gathered above the oversized logo and multicolored rays spreading behind the blister. Apache Chief fills most of the clear bubble, giving the package the straightforward retro presentation collectors expect from this style of carded figure.

DC Retro Wave 17 Super Friends The Atom 6-Inch Scale Action Figure
The Atom’s bright blue cowl and tunic are broken up by a sharp red chest panel that continues into the trunks, gloves, and belt. Blue boots bring the costume back around, giving the figure the clean, high-contrast color blocking of his Super Friends design.

The collectible art card uses The Atom’s tiny scale as the joke, reducing his character art to a miniature figure against the wide yellow field. The equally small Justice League Radio is the only other included accessory, keeping this set appropriately simple.

From the back, the red torso panel rises to a sharp point between the shoulder blades, while the slim blue belt creates a clean break before the red trunks.

A tiny atom emblem decorates the forehead, while the blue mask framing the eyes keeps the exposed face clean and faithful to the simplified cartoon styling. The Atom’s square-jawed head sculpt and small circular belt buckle carry the simplified animated styling into the costume’s finer details.

DC Retro Wave 17 Super Friends The Joker 6-Inch Scale Action Figure
The carded presentation amusingly places The Joker beneath the full Super Friends team artwork, emphasizing his role as the colorful villain in this otherwise hero-heavy assortment.

The Joker’s broad red grin, arched black brows, and slick green hair give the head sculpt plenty of personality while keeping the simplified Super Friends styling. His purple suit gets a sharp burst of contrast from the yellow vest, green shirt, and black bow tie, with white spats finishing the classic costume.

The collectible art card uses a grinning portrait of The Joker pointing upward beneath the colorful Super Friends logo. His prop weapon carries the joke further with a bright red-and-yellow “BANG” flag extending from the barrel.

Around back, The Joker’s purple tailcoat extends almost to the knees with a deep center split, keeping the rear design simple and neatly tailored.

Sculpted lapels and small vest buttons keep the formalwear readable without overcomplicating the cartoon design, while the darker purple gloves add a subtle break from the suit.

McFarlane Toys DC Super Friends Warpland Superman 6-in Retro Action Figure
Warpland Superman replaces the familiar human portrait with a stern eagle head, complete with a hooked yellow beak and layered white neck feathers. I like how that unusual sculpt contrasts with the otherwise classic blue suit, red trunks, yellow belt, chest emblem, and flowing red cape.

The collectible art card carries Warpland Superman’s eagle-headed design into the simplified cartoon artwork, set against the bright yellow Super Friends layout. A tiny Justice League Radio rounds out the contents and gives the otherwise unusual variant a familiar team accessory.
