MOTU Chronicles Beast Man has become a genuine mystery. He first appeared to surface on the blurry cross-sell pictured with Evil-Lyn in our look at the Teela, Skeletor, and Evil-Lyn in-hand images. We later took a closer look at that cross-sell after discovering a mystery MOTU Chronicles figure listing at Walmart, and the blurry figure appeared to be Beast Man. Mattel then confirmed during its SDCC 2026 MOTU panel that Beast Man was indeed in development. The clearer, apparently final Wave 4 packaging has now changed the picture. Man-At-Arms V2 occupies the cross-sell position where Beast Man previously appeared to be. Even more curious, Beast Man is also missing from the three future MOTU Chronicles assortments Mattel showed at SDCC 2026. Put together, we have a figure Mattel confirmed is in development, evidence that he appeared on earlier packaging, but no known wave or release date. Mattel has not said Beast Man was removed, delayed, replaced, or moved elsewhere, so we cannot claim any of those things. That leaves two pretty big questions: Where is MOTU Chronicles Beast Man, and when is he coming?

Following the Beast Man Trail

The mystery surrounding MOTU Chronicles Beast Man actually started before we even realized it. When Allison Brie unboxed the MOTU Chronicles Evil-Lyn figure, the back of the package gave us an early look at the Wave 4 cross-sell. At the time, we were focused on the new in-hand images of Evil-Lyn and completely missed what was hiding in that very blurry lineup. It wasn’t until we later discovered a mystery MOTU Chronicles figure listing at Walmart that we went back and took a much closer look. Once we zoomed in, one of those figures certainly appeared to be Beast Man. The image was nowhere near clear enough to call it a confirmation, but it gave us our first indication that Beast Man could be coming to MOTU Chronicles. Then at SDCC 2026, Mattel seemingly filled in another piece of the puzzle when they confirmed during their MOTU panel that Beast Man was in development. Suddenly, that blurry figure on the back of Evil-Lyn’s package became a lot more interesting.

Now we have another piece of the puzzle, but instead of answering our questions, it creates even more of them. We recently got a much clearer look at what appears to be the final Wave 4 cross-sell, and Man-At-Arms V2 is now pictured in the spot where we thought we saw Beast Man. That alone would be interesting, but Mattel also showed us three future MOTU Chronicles wave assortments at SDCC, and Beast Man wasn’t included in any of them. So where does that leave him? We know Mattel said Beast Man was in development, and the earlier Evil-Lyn packaging certainly appears to show him, but right now we don’t know when or where he will actually be released. It’s possible plans changed somewhere along the way, but Mattel hasn’t told us that Beast Man was delayed, replaced, moved to another wave, or canceled, so we don’t want to make that leap. For now, we’re left with a figure we know Mattel has been working on, an early cross-sell that appears to show him, and a current roadmap where Beast Man is nowhere to be found.

Now we have another piece of the puzzle, but instead of answering our questions, it creates even more of them. We recently got a much clearer look at what appears to be the final Wave 4 cross-sell, and Man-At-Arms V2 is now pictured in the spot where we thought we saw Beast Man. We don’t know what happened between those two versions of the packaging, and we don’t want to assume that Beast Man was actually replaced by Man-At-Arms V2 without confirmation from Mattel. What we can see is that the earlier Evil-Lyn packaging appeared to show Beast Man, while the newer cross-sell does not. Considering Mattel subsequently confirmed that Beast Man was in development, it’s an interesting change and leaves us wondering exactly where he fits into the MOTU Chronicles lineup.

For now, Beast Man remains one of the bigger question marks in MOTU Chronicles. We have what appears to be an early look at him on the Evil-Lyn cross-sell, Mattel has confirmed that the figure is in development, but he has since disappeared from the Wave 4 cross-sell and isn’t included in any of the three upcoming waves Mattel revealed at SDCC. There are still plenty of ways Beast Man could eventually find his way into the line, and nothing we’ve seen suggests the figure has been canceled. Until Mattel reveals more, though, we’ll just have to keep watching to see where Beast Man ultimately lands and, more importantly, when we’ll finally get our first official look at him.
