The preorder for the Battle for Eternia 2-in-1 playset is officially live at Walmart, and if you’ve been eyeing this one since we first covered the initial reveal, now you can lock it in at $86.39 with a ship date of July 6. This is the kind of release that hits a real sweet spot for the Masters of the Universe Core line, combining Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain into a single foldable playset that opens up to 27 inches wide and detaches into two separate fortresses for standalone display or play. The feature list reads like a checklist of everything you’d want from a MOTU playset: a working Jawbridge, an elevator, a weapons rack, a zipline, a prisoner lock-up area, removable throne and altar pieces, and four additional weapons and accessories on top of all that. Then there’s the exclusive Golden Armor Skeletor with his Havoc Staff, which sweetens the deal considerably and gives collectors a version of Skeletor that you won’t find packed in anywhere else. I fully expect retailers like Big Bad Toy Store, Entertainment Earth, and Amazon to pick this set up as well, so if you prefer to shop through one of those channels, it’s worth keeping an eye out over the coming days. But if you want to get ahead of the curve and secure yours right now, the Walmart preorder page is live and ready to go. For a set that packs this much into a compact, foldable design at under ninety dollars, it feels like Mattel found a really compelling price point, and I’m curious to see how quickly these move once more retailers open up their listings.

I just love the scene on the back of the package, and here we get a clearer view of it. You can see Skeletor’s bone throne on the left and the Sword ark on the right. The Snake Mountain side of the playset features a large gate that moves up and down and then the Grayskull side features the Jaw Bridge and a working elevator. You will notice the Golden Armor Skeletor in the display as well.

The box art goes all out with a painted battle scene, showing He-Man and Battle Cat clashing with Skeletor against a dramatic backdrop of Castle Grayskull on one side and Snake Mountain on the other. It’s a gorgeous piece of illustration that really sells the scope of this 2-in-1 playset. Here’s a closer look at everything included, and there’s a lot to unpack. You get the main playset shell, a pair of serpent column pieces, a staircase, rock formations, a grappling hook, a skeletal throne, multiple weapons, and an exclusive Golden Armor Skeletor figure. The playset itself splits into two distinct halves, one in deep purple and one in dark brown, representing Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain respectively. I like how the Grayskull side features that classic jawbridge gate with the lattice pattern, while the Snake Mountain half has those oversized skull-shaped eye sockets carved into the stone. Something I appreciate here is the serpent columns, which are sculpted with full coiled snake bodies and detailed skull faces at the top. They look like they’ll frame the Snake Mountain side perfectly once everything is assembled. The included Golden Armor Skeletor is clad in teal and dark metallic armor with a flowing cape. He comes with a nice spread of weapons including a spear, an axe, and what looks like Skeletor’s classic Havoc Staff. One thing I noticed right away is the stepped Aztec-style pyramid piece finished in olive green, which adds a lot of environmental variety alongside the orange staircase and scattered rock pieces. The skeletal throne is a wild accessory too, with a horned skull crest and ribcage-like framework that feels right at home on the Snake Mountain side.

Here’s a closer look at the back of the box, which showcases the playset fully assembled and populated with figures across multiple levels. Inset photos on the right highlight how the two halves connect and lock together for storage, folding into a compact shape that keeps everything contained. The back of the box gives you a great sense of scale, with the playset sprawling across both Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain halves while figures are scattered throughout the scene in full battle mode. I like how the inset callout on the left shows a hand lifting the gate mechanism, giving you a clear idea of how that jawbridge feature actually functions.

You can see how the Castle Grayskull side features those jagged fangs framing the jawbridge entrance, with red weathering splashed across the stone near the eye sockets. A teal trident emblem sits above the brow, and the surrounding brickwork has a nice roughhewn texture with rivets dotting the flanking tower.

He-Man is shackled with gold chains and manacles, and the heavy links drape over his shoulders with a satisfying chunky sculpt. His silver chest armor features a bold red cross emblem, while the leather-toned loincloth has intricate tooling along the belt and segmented panels.

Teela is shown on a rising platform pedestal, with the olive-green column functioning as an elevator that moves up and down in front of the ornate gold gate. Her gold and white outfit pops nicely against the weathered gray stonework of the Castle Grayskull half, and those deep crimson boots add a sharp color contrast.

Here’s a closer look at the gold pyramid shrine piece, and the Eternian rune carvings running across every triangular panel are seriously impressive. The sword nestled in the cradle has a silver blade tapering to a sharp point, with a brown leather-wrapped grip and a sculpted gold crossguard that echoes the ancient aesthetic of the structure around it.

Skeletor sits on his skeletal throne atop the Snake Mountain half, with the bone crest and ribcage armrests framing him perfectly against the deep purple interior walls. The Castle Grayskull side opens opposite, and I like how the gold catapult piece positioned near the gate adds a siege warfare element you don’t always see in playsets at this scale.

You can see how the two halves hinge together with those silver clasp connectors running down the center seam, letting the whole playset fold shut like a book. The purple Snake Mountain side has a wonderful scaly rock texture with a coiled serpent head near the top, complete with orange fangs and a piercing orange eye that contrasts beautifully against the deep violet.

The jawbridge gate swings open to reveal a portcullis behind it, and the motion blur here gives you a great sense of how that spring-loaded mechanism launches figures forward when triggered. I like how the orange interior mouth detailing contrasts with the rough purple stonework, making the whole snake face feel alive even at this scale.
