Battle for Subternia MOTU Core Wave 1 Preorder

It’s turning into a big day for Masters of the Universe preorders! Following today’s MOTU Origins Build-A-Figure Wave 1 preorders and MOTU Chronicles 2027 Wave 1 preorders, Mattel’s Battle for Subternia MOTU Core assortment is joining the fun. This one is particularly cool because the Core line is designed for kids, and the figures include glow-in-the-dark accessories! It’s the kind of fun feature that fits Masters of the Universe perfectly, especially for younger fans discovering Eternia for the first time. We’ve actually been following this assortment for a while. Our earlier reporting covered the first signs of the Battle for Subternia subline and later details about the glow-in-the-dark accessories. The Battle for Subternia story has Skeletor discovering a mysterious glowing power beneath Eternia that enhances weapons, and naturally He-Man and the Heroic Warriors aren’t going to let him have all the fun! The first wave includes three figures, each approximately 5 1/2 inches tall with 14 points of articulation and intended for ages 6 and up. He-Man comes with a glow-in-the-dark Power Sword and removable harness and skirt armor. Evil-Lyn includes her signature glow-in-the-dark scepter. Trap Jaw has his mechanical jaw and arm, plus a staff that launches a glow-in-the-dark hook. Of the three accessories, that launching hook might be my favorite. It’s exactly the sort of action feature I’d love to see more of in a kids’ toy line. We don’t have official product images yet, but the descriptions already make this assortment sound like a lot of fun. I’m particularly happy that Mattel is giving the Core line some creative play features rather than treating it as simply a less expensive alternative to the collector-focused Origins and Chronicles lines. Entertainment Earth has opened preorders for all three figures at $12.99 each. Evil-Lyn and Trap Jaw are estimated for January 2027, with He-Man expected in February 2027. We expect BigBadToyStore and Amazon to follow, and we’ll update the links when additional listings become available.
