Expand-Or MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Exclusive Official Images & Preorder

For the honor of Grayskull! The wait is finally over, MOTU fans! After we first brought you the news that The Technomancer Expand-Or was being teased for Mattel Creations, we now have official images and full preorder details for this super exciting Masters of the Universe Origins exclusive. Expand-Or, member of the Evil Horde is one of those deep cut characters that longtime collectors have been hoping to see realized in the Origins line, and I can’t be more excited that Mattel is continuing to dig into the Horde roster like this. This evil Horde warrior stands 5.5 inches tall with 16 points of articulation and features an extendable attached neck and torso, which is just so much fun and so faithful to the original concept. He comes with four interchangeable limb extenders that you can mix and match or stack together to form a super-appendage, a dragon-head spear with a fire-burst sleeve, and a mini comic titled “Black Paladin.” How cool is that?! The level of play and display options here is really impressive, and I love how Mattel leaned into the elongation gimmick with so many extender pieces. Expand-Or is priced at $22.00 and launches for preorder on May 27, 2026 at 9am. He will be available exclusively through Mattel Creations, and at that price point with all those accessories and the mini comic, this is a really solid value. If you’re building out your Horde shelf, you’re going to want to snag this one. So let’s take a look at The Technomancer Expand-Or MOTU Origins Mattel Creations Exclusive!

You can preorder Expand-Or at Mattel Creations:

Masters of the Universe Origins Expand-Or Action Figure

The card art has a great retro energy, with a fiery red burst behind an illustrated Expand-Or towering in his purple and gold armor, dragon-head spear in hand. A second character illustration peeks out from the right side of the card, adding a nice narrative touch to the overall presentation.

The back of the packaging continues the illustrated scene, with Expand-Or crashing his massive spear down in a burst of sparks while a second armored figure braces below. You can see how the artwork wraps across the full box, treating it almost like a mini comic book cover with a cosmic, alien battlefield stretching into the background.

Clad in deep purple armor with gold plating across the shoulders, knees, and boots, Expand-Or has a color scheme that really pops, with bright red accents running through the forearms, shins, and belt tying the whole look together. The dragon-head spear features a translucent red fire-burst sleeve over a textured gray shaft, and I think it’s cool that the flame effect has that slightly molten, organic shape to it.

Here’s a closer look at Expand-Or’s helmet, which has a really aggressive sculpt with those sweeping red horns that flare out from the crown and taper into sharp, curved points on either side. The Horde bat chest emblem is a nice piece of detail work, with tiny sculpted wings and a snarling face all done in that same vibrant red, and beneath it you can see the slatted purple armor covering his neck, which is actually the extendable section that allows his head to telescope upward.

The dragon-head spear gets a great moment here, with that translucent red fire-burst sleeve showing off its wild, almost animalistic sculpt, all jagged edges and trailing flame tendrils wrapping around the shaft. One thing I noticed right away is the orange limb extender segment attached to his forearm, featuring etched circuitry-like detailing across its curved surface, which gives you a sense of how those interchangeable extenders snap into place to elongate his reach.

Sporting golden kneecaps and shin guards over deep purple leg armor, the lower half of Expand-Or has a chunky, segmented look that feels very much in line with the classic Origins aesthetic, with each plate clearly defined by sculpted edges and recessed joints. I’m really digging the small red circular detail on his belt buckle and the matching gold rivets dotting his boots, subtle touches that reward a closer look once you get past the spear and helmet. And I love that giant red Horde Bat symbol on his chest!

Armed with his dragon-head spear, Expand-Or looks fantastic in a full aerial pose that really shows off how well the limb extenders integrate with the base figure, the orange segment on his forearm blending seamlessly into the purple and gold surrounding it. You can see how all four interchangeable extenders could stack together to form that super-appendage, and even with just one attached here, the proportions still feel cohesive rather than awkward.

Here’s a closer look at Expand-Or’s upper torso, and something I appreciate here is how the extendable neck section works as a design element even when compressed, those horizontal slats on the purple gorget looking like vented armor plating rather than a hidden gimmick. The gold shoulder pauldrons have a smooth, almost pearlescent finish that contrasts nicely with the matte purple of the chest plate, and the small yellow rivets at the shoulder joints add a mechanical, constructed quality to the whole assembly.

A close-up of the torso and midsection reveals the Horde bat emblem’s red gloss contrasting against the matte purple chest plate, while the gold trim lining the belt and waistband creates a clean separation between upper and lower armor sections. The gauntlets have a terrific sculpt, with oversized gold cuffs wrapping around clenched purple fists, and each forearm slot for the limb extenders is recessed cleanly enough that the figure looks complete even without one attached.

Here’s the full accessory spread laid out alongside the figure, and it’s nice to see everything Expand-Or comes with in one place: the dragon-head spear, the translucent red fire-burst sleeve, two curved forearm extenders, and two rectangular leg extenders, all molded in that same vivid orange-red with purple connector pegs. I like how the leg extenders have little etched lightning bolt symbols running down their faces, matching the circuitry motif on the arm pieces, and at 16 points of articulation for a 5.5-inch figure, there’s a lot of play value packed in here.

The included “Black Paladin” mini comic has a fantastic cover illustration featuring He-Man and She-Ra crossing swords in the foreground while Expand-Or’s menacing helmet looms large behind them, flanked by Anti Eternian He-Man on one side and Evil-Lyn on the other. I like how the art style leans into that classic Filmation-meets-modern-comic look, with bold outlines and saturated purples and reds tying the whole composition back to the figure’s color palette.
